Good day dear fellow mylotters, My sister and I were discussing some issues she encountered at her work. As she asked me some advice and what steps she needs to take in order for her how to handle situations she deals with. As she have asked me, how to handle the function which is written as "perform other duties assigned from time to time". When I heard it from her, I just quickly responded, being an employee, that task is not that easy to handle since that scope is too broad and not descibed specifically. In addition, I have also shared some views to my sister that, this task has always been included in almost every list of functions, duties and responsibilities. Only they are just re-phrase and re-word accordingly.

Majority of office positions will include those words from managers to data entry. A company needs people to rally together to get reports and projects completed in time. A company likes to see its employees helping and working as a team and not focusing only on what they have to do but helping others where they can. Its a broad concept but no company will expect someone to do things they are not trained to do. She has nothing to worry about except time management.

That's a standard line that employers always put into a contract to avoid annoying people who refuse to do something even slightly different to the specific tasks defined as their job. Conversely, an employer can't ask you to do something unreasonable, for which you're not trained or which is dangerous. The phrase really just means "other, similar stuff that we can't list completely because otherwise this contract would be about 100 pages long".

ah yes, this is where work outside our job description falls. i mean this sure makes employers win every case filed against them whnever an employee complains about the things our bosses lets us do. its a matter of how this line is interpreted. but still at the end of the day, even if we do our best to not let ourselves be fooled by these companies we sure always is at the wrong side... making us too weak when we fight against them for certain reasons we no longer see fit.

This is one way also to improve ourselves in other fields. When we are asked to do some tasks that is not our forte,or not in our line of duty,no one will be benefited but ourself. We will learn from doing so and it will add to our learning ability. enjoy weekend jaiho®
