Marketing books online

I have never been to college to learn about business nor marketing but I am now in the position where I need to promote my new book,"Realmwalkers", on the Internet. I have an account on Facebook and have made a page there about the book, but is there anything else I can do there to promote the book? Are there any other legal and inexpensive ways of marketing my book online?

congratulations!!! your book sounds really interesting, like something i would love to read, from the genres you have given. i love some romance and some action. well if you have a blog, you might want to write there and let your relatives and friends know about it as well. and get them to promote your blog and your book at the same time.
facebook is a good way as well. you might want to maybe post in some book forums, that you are quite active in, and that might help as well. not in big ways, but small trickles, which are useful in the long run too. i'd love to know more about your book, provided it's a free read of course:P love reading free novels, stories online hehe

No problem. I'm not an expert on marketing as well, it's just some common things I have heard people talking about that's all. It's a pity your book isn't free. hehe but there are no free things in life of course hehe but i'll definitely be following your blog. don't worry, truthfully, because your blog is not busy, my mail won't be packed :P i'll definitely look through to read your stories, i'll check it out. good day and best of luck.

Thanks again! I hope you enjoy some of the short stories there. All free to read and enjoy. I also have some poetry and articles. Look around and join as a follow. Always glad to see a new face/name who likes my artwork and writing. Take care and be happy.

Thank you for your kind words and encouragment. I have looking around Facebook and joined a few Writers and Author Groups there. Still don't know what to do but will try to post and see what happens. My book isn't free. My blog does tell you more about it and that blog link is on my profile here. My blog stories are FREE and I invite you to become a follower. It's not a busy blog but it does have several short stories you might enjoy. My book "Realmwalkers" is NOT free though, but my blog's short stories are. Check it out and thanks again for your tips.

Wow, congratulations on your book. Well I guess posting it here at mylot is also one way of promoting your book online. Start marketing on people you know, and then eventually it will spread out. You can do email marketing first with people on your contact list and eventually it will spread out. You got me curious about your book, I'd love to see a sneak peak. What is your book about?

It is a sci fi fantasy book filled with adventure, humor, and some romance. I have made a blog with lots of details about it but I don't think I can link it here.
