The city of Kolkata, formerly known as Calcutta, is marooned again. All sorts of transport are disrupted. Most of us are confined indoors. In addition, to add fuel to fire, there is load shedding off and on. Life has really become miserable. Under such circumstances, the government as well as the corporation is there only to promise but never to keep it. The most sufferers are those who are daily wage- earners. There is none to think for them. The political leaders only shed crocodile tears but never do anything else as a permanent remedy of the problem. It is the scenario we are accustomed to witness every year and nobody knows whether it will ever be changed. But we will definitely hope against hope because it is only hope that we can cherish till the last day of life.

the problems faced by Calcutta same as problems faced by the city of Jakarta. Congestion, pollution, chaotic urban planning policy, etc.
Actually, the problem's that's not just a problem to be solved by government officials, but also became a problem public and must finding the solution together because that's we are as members society should be help our government. Don't just complain and just constantly criticize. As members of society, we are must take care about the problems around us with start familiarizing yourself to start being concerned about the environment around you

Yes, you are right to some extent but not totally because it is no doubt our duty to come forward to help the government but if the government is not keen enough in solving the problems, what can I do as a common man. I have not the gift of the gab to gather people to organize protests against the government. This can only be possible for the political leaders, but they rarely can afford to spend any time for the so called common people who they treat as only a 'vote bank' for them and so need them only during an election.

Are people really that dumb? THey live in an area where such happenings are almost expected yet individuals don't make emergency plans and have no options? If I lived on an island or someplace like this you speak of and I knew something could happen at any time I would have some options for an emergency.
