So I have oily skin and I try really hard to keep it under control. i splash cold water on my face a lot through out the day, which is suppose to help...
I use bare minerals powder as face powder, but even with that on my skin gets oily fairly quickly, especially if it's hot out (I live in AZ and it's summer right now...).
I read that you should get cleansers and medicated pads that contain benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, glycolic acid, or beta-hydroxy acid.
But I also want to know if there are any products out there I can use when I have makeup on, that will only remove the oil and not my makeup. I heard about blotting paper, but will that remove my makeup too?
So I'm just wondering if anyone has any products (cleansers, makeup, etc) that help with oily skin.
Thanks!!

hi:)
I have oily skin too but There are plenty of super good products out there for oil prone skin my favorite line being Clean and Clear. But if you don't want to spend the money,a good soap will help a little and its been shown that citrus juices particularly lime and lemon can be a safe and effective astringent, that's an agent to get rid of oiliness. Be careful not to over use these or get them in your eyes, though. and washing you face more than twice a day helps a lot.

Any clean and clear products, or are there specific products they have for oily skin? And when you say a good soap do you have any in mind? How is Dove? I've never used Dove soap before.
I use a lemon/suagr scrub about once a week, I'm not sure if it'd be safe to put lemon juice on my face more often.
Thanks flower!

I think the answer lies in the cause of your oily skin and not in wasting money on harmful products to get rid of your skin's natural oils. You may need to look at your diet for this, or make up that you use. (I am dumbfounded by women's obsession with make up!) Try eating less oily foods for a few weeks and see if that changes things. We have natural oils in our skin which guard against the elements such as the sun, but when we use harsh chemicals cleaners and soaps to get rid of them, we are then exposed to the elements and the results of the exposure such as skin cancers.
