I've loved this show for years and always watch all of the old shows on various channels. I was just watching a show about the father who was diagnosed with ALS. He will most likely die young and become increasingly debilitated and eventually not be able to function. The family has a young son in a wheelchair who is paralyzed from the waist down. When Ty asked the father what he knew his future was, and the man told him he would probably not see his children grow to adults, Ty had tears running down his face. I love this show. It may be full of hype but ultimately there are people out there willing to help others. Kudos to the builders who volunteer their time and materials and employees. Kudos to Sears who donates tons of home appliances. Kudos to all of the other businesses who donate furniture and supplies, and kudos to CVS pharmacy who is good about donating money for scholarships or funds to help these families out. This show gives you a sense of hope when things seem really hopeless.

I love this show too.Ty,the rest of the team,CVS,the producers,Sears and all the others that help are just great.I too do not miss this show and watch the repeats..That man kind of reminds me of my late husband because he was dying from cancer and basically knew that he was not going to see our daughter grown, graduation, take her to Disney,as many do on the program, which is great..He would never hold our grandkids and all of other lifes highlights. I feel sad for that man and his family, but at least he will die knowing that they have a descent home to live in and will be able to enjoy it with his family before he unfortunatley passes away. The show and basis for it is absolutley great!
