I am getting encouraged to try my hand at freelance writing by reading the discussions and responses of mylotters who do so. I joined Associated Content and have had a little bit of success thus far. It is whetting my appetite for more.
I am noticing a lot of mylotters discussions and responses about Triond. I decided to join Triond -- very easy sign up.
Before I begin, I have a few questions. What does Triond want as far as number of words? Or pages?
Is it ok to write about the same topics that Associated Content published? My article for Triond would be original but the topics might be the same. Is that allowed?
I have noticed many recent discussions and responses on mylot about Triond. There seems to be a lot. I tried to search using the mylot search engine and would you believe that now that I am looking to go back to these discussions, I can not find them.

Hello, Bostonphil. I have around 100 articles published on Triond, and I earn less than $1 a month from them. I have around 1,400 articles on Helium, and I earn around $60 a month on revenue share, as well as some incentive payments along the way. I average between $200 and $300 each month, which makes my Triond earnings look a bit sick.
Despite the low pay, Triond only accepts original content, although once it's published on Triond, you can republish on other sites, as long as T & Cs allow it. Helium does have a good support network. You can submit your articles for critiquing, and request a writing mentor, so it's more than just a writing site. It's the only one I bother with at the moment.

Thank you for the very valuable information. Other mylotters are very unhappy with Triond. I am going to look into Helium. Is it user friendly for beginners? Does it require pictures? About how many words do they want? I like that it has a good support network. I like that a lot. Yesterday, I joined Squidoo and wrote my first lens. But they have it classified as a work in progress and I do not know why. I fond Squidoo very complicated and confusing although many others find it very simple and easy to use. I have some tech knowledge but I am definitely not tech sophisticated.
I will look into Helium. Thanks, again.

Hello again. Helium is a little complicated to get the hang of at first, but if you read the help pages first before you jump in, you'll get a good idea of how it works. And I'm always happy to help anyone with questions or concerns - as long as I'm used as a back up to the help pages, rather than instead of them.
Minimum word count is 400, and suggested article length is between 400 and 1500, although you could write more if you felt it was necessary. However, articles within those word counts tend to get more page views. You don't have to illustrate your articles, unless you write 'How To' guides, when illustrations are a given.
I don't do technical either, but I can do everything I want on Helium. If you decide to join, hook up with me over there. There's a link to my Helium account on my profile page here, and you can message me from that.

I was hoping to find lots of responses here. I have signed up for Triond, but I have never written there. I already had some articles at Helium, so I am going there when I am not finding anything to write on TextBroker. I will probably look back at this discussion tomorrow. Make sure you are doing a full text search when you use the MyLot search engine.

I, also, was hoping for a lot of responses and am disappointed that I have not received any from persons on Triond.
I do not know what you mean when you say to do a full text search. I searched Triond under discussions using the search engine and got results but the results did not answer my questions and some were old or older.
There is a mylotter who began a discussion about Triond yesterday. Her discussion was the impetus for my joining Triond and submitting an article. She has gotten a lot of responses. The information is mixed. Some mylotters have had success writing for Triond and others have had very bad experiences. The screen name of this mylotter is oindy54. I suggest that you read this discussion and responses. I think that it was begun yesterday.
I submitted an article to Triond yesterday late afternoon. I will keep you informed of my experience.

I have had an article on Triond for over a week and I have not had even one view. I feel like I wrote a good article. On my other sites, I have had views and likes on all my articles but no or little earnings.
I probably will not publish anything more on Triond until I see my article getting some views.

Triond is not as picky as some sites about how many words you have to write. If you write poetry and mark it as such you can write as little as you want, for all other topics as long as you have a few paragraphs you should be fine. I have never had anything rejected there. You can write about the same topics as long as the article is original. I am ladym33 on there too.

Triond just sent me an email telling me that they published my article. So you have been published on Triond, But have you earned any money? I have read many discussions and responses from persons who are very unhappy with their earnings from Triond. Only a very few are satisfied.
I have just published my first lens on squidoo. Do you have any experience with squidoo?

I am a member of Triond, and have written a few things for this website. I find that it's a nice website to publish some stories, articles, and such. It's not really difficult to publish something for Triond. I've had an easy time publishing, as I'm sure others have as well.

Well, they published my article late afternoon so I do not yet have a record of views or earnings. Most persons seem to be very unhappy with what they have earned on Triond. On the other hand, some seem satisfied.
Are you happy with your earnings?
