how does IMDB serves you?

Hi to all MyLotters, i am so back to this posting thingy. Lately I've been renting out at apple and I would just like to know your thoughts if you do check IMDB first before buying/downloading/renting a movie?
Because for me, IMDB helps a lot, I sometimes check the rating before downloading a movie, I think it would make sense tho even if some raters are not that reliable. haha
So, how about ya, does the IMDB rating matters to you?

I use it daily to check out what movies are coming on TV. Then again when I want something newer to download. It is also good for finding which films were made by certain actors / actresses.
The rating is generally as I would have said, so that's reliable.

Ratings are helpful but sometimes most films were just underrated. Sad but true.

i practically use imdb to rate all the movies i watch and have a little insight or description. it matters a lot to me and it also is very practical.
