I recently visited a private hospital in my city of Kolkata where I found an advertisement on behalf of the hospital authority which is as follows: “We dream to make health care facilities available to the mass, irrespective of status, class, creed or community with the soul aim of care compassion and service to the sick and unhealthy”. It is one of the costliest hospitals in the city of Kolkata where I live and where most of the residents are not so much rich compared to other metropolitan cities in India. So how would you treat the advertisement? Do you believe in their claim? Is it just to attract the people or do they actually believe in the advertisement and so are really serious about the health of the mass as claimed in the advertisement?

The best way to find out is to fall sick and get admitted.Only then will you be able to find out whether they really mean what they say or whether it is just a way to attract patients.I do not think people would ever like to get admitted in a hospital unless they are so ill that it is absolutely neccessary. Most people avoid hospitals as they do get looted and usually do not get good medical treatment.A hospital is always the last resort but many people prefer to die at home rather than go to a hospital to die.I know what it is to get hospital treatment as i was admitted twice in 2 different hospitals.I have seen how people, especially the poor are treated there. They are treated worse than animals.

To answer your questions, we first have to observe the activities in the hospital, to see if they really care irrespective of class, creed or community or is it just a useless claim.
What do you feel about that hospital, a sit is in your city, do you feel that they are doing what they claimed of.
