A man the lived in England wanted to travel to Africa, the Middle East and Asia to be able to see a number of different countries for a low price.
He flew from London to Berlin on Air Berlin. Then he flew from Berlin to Luxor on Air Berlin. Next he flew from Luxor to Dubai on Air Arabia. He flew on from Dubai to Mumbai with Air Arabia. From there he flew on Kingfisher on to Bangalore. With Jet Star he flew from there to Singapore. On Air Asia he flew back home from Singapore.
He just took hand luggage and washed his clothes every few days on the way. He stayed in cheap guest houses.
Would you like to do a low cost journey similar to that?
Is taking just hand luggage a way to keep costs low when flying on a budget airline?
If so would you find it easy to do that?

If you are travelling alone then limiting yourself to hand luggage is certainly a way to reduce both costs and hassle. Personally I have a big issue with the so called low cost airlines charging you extra for taking luggage. It makes the actual cost of your ticket non-transparent, which of course is how they get away with claiming to be low cost when in fact their prices aren't always so by the time you've added the 'extras'.
For my recent trip, both EasyJet and RyanAir where MORE EXPENSIVE than the two big, expensive airlines that do the same route. Needless to say, we'll be travelling with a quality airline for less money.

I think it depends at the moment you make the reservation. If my flight cost me 9.95 euro and a suitcase 40 euro the flight is still way cheaper as many expensive airlines charge (2500 euro for the same flight). And to be honest untill now I did not find much quality at the more expensive flights. I think this also different between all Airlines plus what do you call quality?

It depends on the route I guess, but on the couple of European routes I use most regularly they are rarely cheaper.
When I'm talking about quality in this context I'm meaning having a flight attendant I can understand and have confidence in, a check in desk rather than a rugby scrum, and a cup of tea on board without having to pay extra.

I love to take low cost airlines.I had my first trip by airline is the low cost airline,i think it's really cheap and the price is sensible. The company aims to help everybody to take a air trip.If the price is low, anything would be ok,i don't see it is difficult to carrying my luggages.Have a nice day.

If I travel, I would also like to find a cheaper price ticket online. This way it saves a lot more money. The person mentioned in the discussion is wise to do so as he could travel to more countries for sightseeing.

I would want to. Since 2010, my friends and I would book into cheap air fare promos to nearby countries here in Southeast Asia.
Anyways, I wish flying to Europe coming from Asia would be cheap.

I meant I am a guy, and I won't mind to travel light and not carrying any gifts or souvenir that is fine with me. To cut the cost low, and also be able to sightsee all the destinations you wanted, that is a deal for me. I won't mind simply carry hand luggages, and stay in cheap hotel. I am in for it.

I envy that man and I would love to make a similar low cost flight.
I also would love to hear about this journey and how much he payed for these flights.
I use WizzAir to Hungary (that is already possible for 9.95 euro - airport Weeze Germany).
Hand luggage is enough for me, the low cost airlines I know allow you to take 10 kg but 3 kg less wouldn't be a problem to me either.

maximax8,
After some recent experiences with low cost airlines, I really have to wonder if they are REALLY that cheap.
First and foremost, I am sure the low prices have their inflexible conditions starting with their advance reservations and purchases. After which, changes are not permitted without a heavy penalty fee. Then, there's the baggage allowances which charge an exorbitant rate for check-in baggage.
In times like these, I am sure we are aware how volatile our weather conditions can be and as such our low cost carriers do not give exceptions to changes even when they are involuntary. As they have a rigid schedule, you can be assured that their frequencies are also limited. So, even when you can change the dates - don't expect to have seats available.
Inflexibility is the crux of trouble free travel. It is point worthy to note that these budget airlines do not have partners and as such once there's any technical delays or emergencies, there will be no alternatives like a pool service with partner airlines to carry us during extensive delays.
I do not think I would travel extensively on a carry on baggage and be bounded by strict and inflexible conditions from budget airlines.
