Hi all! Many here are interested in clicking pictures. Since the advent of mobile camera many feel that they can take pictures any time and anywhere. Even if we click photographs from our digital camera or old models or in-built mobile phone cameras, we should not forget the basic principles of clicking good photographs. Firstly, one should always keep in mind the object of photography and distance between the camera and the object. I have observed many people taking photograph from a great distance because they wish to cover the background, in this case neither the object nor the distant scenery come good. Secondly, the photographs should not be clicked against the light or sun light because if you do so, your photograph may not appear at all or may be blurred. Thirdly, one should also not go for outdoor photography between 11.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. because at that time position of sun is such that direct sunlight will badly affect the object and they would not be able to open their eyes and look at the camera. Do you enjoy photography and do you have some more useful tips and inputs so that we could share and could get better pictures. Happy Clicking!

I like to take pictures, with cell phone or digital camera as I am not an expert in photography and I certainly never learned any of it. Thanks to you now, I know some basic rules. Well, if you are on a holiday and it was he tie of the day when you are not supposed to take pictures, what should we do? I think I would just go ahead and take the moment before it goes away...

If you want good pictures besure you are using good equipment. Phone cameras seem very convenient but how do you upload them where you want them? I have had no experience at using cameras and I just don't take any pictures except with the disposable type of cameras.

Hi Cel! I have not heard of disposable cameras, what are they? One can transfer photographs from mobile to PC through a data cable or blue tooth.

They are just that. Disposable. They look like a regular little camera and when you take them in to be developed they just dispose of the rest of the camera. I think they are reused.

i too do love taking pictures and looking a them. i just hate people posting their low quality pictures on the internet, those blurred and dark shots. you are right about the sunlight that gives good quality output of the picture, especially when the camera used is not of better quality, like some of those of mobile phones. besides, you don't need flash at those times you mentioned. useful tips? i guess people have already mentioned a lot.

I have never really learned much about photography, I just experiment on my own. The tips that you mentioned will be useful for me I love travelling and I always take many pictures when I visit a new place. When I return to my home I organize the photos in albums, and I already have many albums full of pictures. They are very precious to me, because it is a way of remembering the beautiful and interesting places that I have visited. I also have some albums with pictures of my family and my friends and I like to look that them sometimes and think about the things that happened in the past and people I met. Some years ago I started taking a different kinds of pictures as well. I visit old and abandoned buildings, take pictures of them and use them in my art.

I enjoy photography using my phone not a camera. It's because i'm using an application called instagram on my phone. It's an exclusive application and a social networking site for photo bloggers. You can take a picture and filter it right away using instagram and the moment you submit it, all your instagram friends would be able to see and your twitter and facebook friends can too. It's very convenient because it makes your picture look perfect and it's like you're using lomo cams with the filters.

When working with young people and photography I tell them to keep snapping. I had a young man helping me at a football game and he snapped a few shots and then wanted to show me what he had done. I told him to keep shooting. At the end of the game ha had over 300 shots. Most of them were not usable but two of his shots were good enough that I included them in with my photos for the local paper to consider. I am working with him to show him what the difference is between a photo and a picture that shows emotion. I have learned that not all great Sports photos show action. Lately I have been taking pictures of the athletes off the field trying to capture the emotion.

I have just recently started taking more pictures. None of them are of myself, of course, but they are of things that I like or things that I own etc.

Everyone in my family seems to be good photographer except myself. I own a sony digital camera but I never take the initiative to learn good snapshots. The recent vacations I took recently was spoiled by poor photographing. It is good to know simple tricks to take pictures as pictures are records for our keeps.

Nice one! Yes, I enjoy taking photos and I don't have any idea how to take pictures well. This information helps. I think photography is such a good hobby and some people enjoy it. I am one of them also. I hope mylotters post some tips on how to get better pictures. But I guess, the type of camera also matters, right? Expensive cameras do have great pictures/images. But these cameras are too costly.

I like taking pictures but I am by no means a great photographer. Maybe your advice will help me be better at it. I usually take pretty good pictures, but there is always room for improvement.

Hi dpk! Oh yes, I love taking pictures! It's nice to preserve memories . . . and of course with the digital camera these days, it is MUCH more convenient - and cheaper to take photos! I used to lug around my old film camera with extra lenses and in a camera bag . . . too much to carry - so nice that a digital camera is so small and light. Having a good picture is subjective . . . yes, we want them to be "good" in terms of composition, lighting, etc etc, but photos can also be taken artistically, and does not have to be "pretty". Well, my hubby and I are artists, so we are constantly taking photos. And as a mom, of course I am taking many, many photos of the kids as they grow up. My biggest tip . . . if you are taking digital photos, take the time to learn photo programs such as Photoshop. Sometimes, though not always, you can fix what "bad" shots or even red eyes - I know it's saved many of my photos!!

HI m2s! Oh! You are not only a good photographer but an artist too, I did not know it. It is true that we can take numerous pictures through our digital camera, which is very light weight and handy and now a days we have the facility of application/programmes like 'photoshop', which could remove the irritants. Many thanks for enlightening and enriching us with your knowledge.
