Did USB modem copy our simcard data? I'm asking this because yesterday i have new experience with usb modem and simcard. Here's the story: I have one simcard, one cellphone and one USB modem that have an internal storage. Usually i switch the simcard between my cellphone and my USB modem for my activity. Yesterday i must go out and i bring my cellphone with me so i switch the simcard into the cellphone. After done doing my things i go back to my office and turn up my computer and use my USB modem to connect to internet. I forgot to switch the simcard back to my USB modem but the modem still work just fine. After few hours doing internet stuff i see my cellphone still ON, i suddenly realize that my simcard is still on my cellphone, but my USB modem work fine without my simcard. So my question is: 1. Did USB modem copy our SIM card data? 2. If they do, how to remove it when i decided to sell the USB modem?

i haven't try it yet, after about 8 hours i surf without a simcard in my modem then i realize that my simcard is still in my cellphone then i switch my cellphone off and put the simcard on the modem. I'm living in Indonesia and my modem brand is venus.

Yes, i surf internet without simcard inserted and the only possible explaination is that somehow the modem copy the simcard data and use it when the simcard not exist. You are not the only one that surprise with this. When i realize that my simcard is still on my cellphone i was surprise too... how could i still connect to internet while the simcard is still on my phone, but somehow the modem is still connected and the speed is the same with what i paid for.

Off course it's legal... what's wrong with re-selling USB modem? Is it illegal in your country? Please share to me the rules about selling telecom device...

Maybe you could call the telecommunications company from which you have got your modem or cellphone? I use a USB modem too and whenever I have any questions re. the modem or cellphone, I would not hesitate to call the company's hotline.
