Updating Problems with my Ipod Touch.

Ok So for the past few months, whenever I update a app, the app (I'm updating) will turn gray and say waiting. After a few second, it'll suddenly turn back to normal as if it was never updated. If I check my appstore Updates, the update is still there. I usually have to update a app 3-5 times before it actually 'updates' my app. This is starting to annoy me so I'm wondering if anybody know a solution to this?
