Forgotten Passcode.

Hello, Mylotters. Today I have a very serious subject to talk about. My little brother has forgotten his passcode on his ipod touch. Is there any way to recover or reset his ipod touch WITHOUT restoring? If there is no other way, What will he lose when he restores? Thanks!
