A friend of mine once said, in the early hours after a big night, that the few of still there were all suffering from the BIG TALK syndrome - that is, none of have any small talk, only BIG TALK.
Most people, of course, are the opposite, which is why so many terminally banal discussions here get such high response. It probably also explains why the vast bulk of the entertainment industry is a wasteland, and why we all keep getting the governments we deserve.
I understand all this, but it still frustrates me from time to time.

True! There are lots of boring discussions here. Some members even bash out basically the same discussion over and over, just worded slightly differently.
These boring discussions though seem to get the most responses. If we do come up with a unique and interesting topic, it gets too hard for people, so they skip over it. We cannot have people thinking too hard for their few cents now can we?
