Difference between WP versions?

I signed up for a WP blog a few days back. I could upload the post with just a click of a button. But when I uploaded such articles for a couple of my clients I saw that, there is an option "Submit for review". How come I did not accost that option when I uploaded posts for my blog?
Are these two different versions of WP?

I'm guessing, but it sounds like they've set you up as a contributor. When you put multiple authors on a blog, you can choose what rights they have - you've been given writing rights but not the right to publish. They review it first, then publish for you.
If it isn't built-in (it probably is, I haven't checked), it's an addon. There's only one version of WP (the app itself).

Yeah, I did work as a contributor. Actually I wrote cricket and film news and uploaded the articles for my client. That's how you have interpreted it correctly. So, is it possible to do so for a normally registered WP account or do I need to install any version? A couple of people will also be contributing to my new blog so in that case, I will be the admin.
Please throw some more light on it.

WP.com (and therefore basic .org) comes with a Users page (in the menu on the left). You can assign any of four roles: http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/
