growing old

Wow! This is a proof of true love, that true love is still alive in this world. It kinda made me emotional while reading this. I really think the old woman is so lucky to have a husband like him. I wonder if I'll be as lucky as her. Thanks for the share. It made me feel so warm and hopeful

Thanks for sharing your story, I really enjoyed reading about that couple. That must be true love I hope that my husband and I will still be together when we get old and that we will experience the same kind of love. Your story remind me of two old couples that I have seen when I was a nursing student. One of the couples lived in a nursing home. The woman was very ill and very weak and her husband helped her with most of her daily activities. He couldn't do everything on his own and we (the staff) helped the woman get into bed in the evening. One day the couple and I were alone in the common room and he said to me: "Can you please help my wife, she wants to sleep" and then he looked at her. I still remember the look on his face, his eyes were so full of love and it really touched me. The other situation happened when I was working in the home health care team. I visited an old couple where the woman was suffering from dementia. One day the woman and her husband talked about the situation and the woman said: "I forget everything, I am suffering from dementia now" and then her husband said very gently: "I know, but that isn't your fault and I still love you very, very much" That situation also touched me and made me very happy, because I could feel the deep love between them.

It is a very lovely precious story. I am so happy that you see goodness in seeing this happen. It shows you are a good person also to appreciate seeing this and wanting to share something so precious. The lady is very blessed to have someone there who cares so much for her that way and says the things to here like he probably always has. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we were all in relationships like that. The man will be truly blessed for being there that way for her. I believe mens are more lovable with their partners in their old age because they need a pair for helping eachother. Above incident is a good example for a old men caring his wife and even he is unable to do his own work he himself sacrifies for his wife by doing her works also. But im sure they were fighting couples in their young age.
