I still don't feel like being too funny on this one either. I'm going to make hamburger steaks, but this will be the first time I've made them myself. I'm going to use crackers to mix it up with and maybe a little milk or maybe just water. The only thing is, I've been reading recipes and all the times they say vary, or they don't give a time at all. The temps vary as well. It's 2 lbs. of hamburger, and it's almost thawed out so I'll need to make them soon. The oven is older, probably about 38 years old. What should I put the temp too? and for how long? 375 for 30-45 or 400 for 30-45? or what?

You make hamburger steaks in the oven? It doesn't mather if your oven is old or new since a new oven doesn't need to give you the right temp either. Start with a low temp and less minutes and just check in between. Or if you are afraid they will burn (temp too high) you can always cover them with baking paper or so. Many great cooks have their oven always the same temp and are able to bake everything in it. Enjoy your meal.

yeah I got that reaction when i asked a family member, but that's how I know how to cook them. No one in my family has ever made them to my knowledge, but I guess I'll do it in the frying pan. It'll be quicker, I can watch them better.. meh.. nothing to go with it, but ketchup is all I need I guess.

Yes. It would be quicker in the frying pan. You could also cook them on a grill too.

I would not cook them any higher than 375. You do not want to cook them too fast and have them dry out. Just check on them every ten minutes to see how it is progressing.

I would add some egg and spices to the mixture. Cook it at 375 for 30 minutes. Then check it and see how done they are. Meatloag would be just at good. Add catsup. Good stuff. I am hungry for dinner. It's about 5:30 and we usually eat at 6 or soon after. I hope your hamburgers turn out well.
