I always sees some womens fighting with vendor. The one which i dont like to do. I dont know why peoples more interested to bargain in silly things most wil be with vegetable vendor to less the value which is nearly equal to 2 or 3rupees. I wont say that i dont bargain with any shoppers but if i know the cost of the product is not worth enough with what seller tolds then i wil start bargaining to give the correct price of the product. Do u bargain where do u bargain most of the time?

In my country it's not normal practice to bargain, but you can still save some money if you try. Not everywhere will bargain with you, but some will. In some parts of the world though, where it is expected that you will bargain, surely the vendors will set their asking price higher than they will accept simply because they are expecting you to try and beat them down?

that's the reason why they're buying from a vendor in the street, and not in the supermarket

For example if a vegetable vendor comes in street peoples bargaining too much for little pennies but when they had chance for getting vegetables in super market they cant bargain there they are compelled to give the actual set price.

Good for you, you have money to spend that you don't need to bargain for things. Bargaining is a tough job, but a lot of people do it because they want more for their money. They did have a hard time earning it, and would love to scrimp and save so that they could buy more or buy something different.

You totally missed my point. People bargain because the want to MORE out of their money. The reason why they need to do it because they need to make ends meet. They need to properly budget their money so they can buy other stuff that they need, and if money permits it, stuff that they want. It's not that people who haggle enjoy it. It's tiring, it drains energy. It makes a person irritable. Of course if you could do away with it, you won't do it at all, but they have to, they need to. People who can afford not to haggle, like us, is lucky, we have the luxury of paying for something at full price and we don't have to go hungry or have our electricity, water and internet bill disconnected.

Bargaining is not about who does had money wont bargain with sellers. I too had less money but bargaining is some about arguing too much for simple things.

I do bargain but only at specific places. For one, I don’t bargain with vegetable vendors…yes they do charge a little more but I dont really like haggling for one or two rupees…and then, they are quite poor so even if they are taking one or two rupee more from me, I really don’t mind. However, I bargain at the footpath stalls from where I buy many things like clothes and accessories … they stall people also know this and they usually hike the price and then quote, so here you would be a fool for not bargaining.

Yes i accept we cant bargain with vegetable vendor even he is poor nothing could be loose if he sell fruits for 2 or 3 rupees. In some places they fixed mrp prices we can bargain for less than 10rupees or something. More than that its not good for bargain before the other peoples.

Bargaining is necessary. No merchant is selling the product for the right price. Though we are saving few rupees. Our Intention would be we should not be cheated by others.

Everybody is selling products for a profitable manner. Saving pennies is good but for that bargaining in streets for hours and hours is not necessary according to me.

Bargain at right place is correct means if the price of a particular product is not as much as the vendor say then at that place you have to bargain otherwise the vendor will earn sum of money. ya but if the price is right you should not bargain secondly i bargain only there where i feel the vendor is cheating me

Mainly bargaining is done in only simple things where we can loose simple amount of money. Yes if the price is too high where the actual price is less then its our duty to bargain and we cant give money for un wanted things.

i do bargain when i'm buying apparels in the sidewalk stores and when i think that their price is expensive for their goods i would ask the sales lady to lower the price. if i want the good so bad i would argue to the vendor that i saw this stuff at that price or if not i would make some drama of not buying the stuff. i do bargain to save a lot when i buy so that i can buy more things with my money.

Simply making drama wil work out in some places because they need u to buy that product. I believe the quality products are under bargaining. If the product is not good and its slow moving sellers wont fix high price and we can get that product without bargaining.

I don't bargain for anything.I buy most of the things from Big Bazaar where there is no option for bargaining and my father buys the vegetables from the market so I do not know about what he does there. Many women bargain because they run the household and are responsible for the expenses. They have to spend limited money on each thing so as to keep the household running.Everyone might not be able to afford costly items so they bargain.

I think there are two reasons: 1. to save a little money. If you can do this many times, you can save a quite big amount. right? 2. this is a habit and a joy of some women. They feel happy when they bargain with others.

Even i dont think its not a big money to save those amount. May be it must be character of getting what we need . So womens are satisfied if their bargaining wins in the arguement with vendor

I only bargain for things that cost a lot and i think is overpriced. But for those vendors in the market i don't , specially to those that sells vegetables. I know that they only profit so little with them and that when their vegetable wilts, its hard for them to have it sold already. So i understand them.
