Procedure followed by a PTC site while offering membership.

A few days ago I signed up for a PTC site as a referral of a fellow mylotter who was kind enough to send me the link on my request. My earlier experience with any other site or forum was that a verification link was sent to my email address that was registered with the site and I had to click on that verification link for confirmation and after that I was given a bonafied membership of that particular site. But in this case, no such procedure was followed by the site. As my problem with Paypal is yet to be resolved on some technical grounds, I could not submit particulars of the ‘Money Processor System’ I opted for receiving payment from the site and presumed the failure on my part to provide the primary requirement might be a cause in such delay from the site. But in a recent discussion when I raised this issue to another mylotter in course of my feedback, he was extremely surprised to know my views about registering of membership with a PTC site. As I have never been a member of any such PTC site, I have no idea about the actual procedure followed by a PTC site while offering membership; I hope those who are members of PTC sites may be able to throw light on it. My query is very simple; whether a PTC site sends any verification link to the email address registered with the site by any individual who wants to be a member of that PTC site.
