On the very faithful day that change from an good to bad situation of you country?
I didn't think that the day where my Money is completely transferred to my Eon account is also the day where where all the nightmare started...which is the Declaration of Martial Law.
Most people from those times believed it was a bit of a golden age of the Philippines. where having a lot of children is fine, and people were more disciplined and production.

There are several reasons he believed he should declared martial law; one, because of the unending political violence during election, with political clans and candidates having private armies of their own killing even the most innocent people. second, because of the rise of the New People's army and the Moro Army in Mindanao.
But the truth is also; he wanted to stay in power. using the NPA to create laws differ to the constitution and tries to amend the from one way to the other.
Some people said it was the quiet times, some said it was dark times..
Either way, maybe some one should assassinate him right there

Many people, mostly in the province where Marcos originated, still misses the days that Marcos ruled with an iron fist in the whole country. They miss the order, yet they probably ignored all the killings, all the human rights violations, all the plunderings and ugliness that was the Marcos Dictatorship.
My grandma when she was still alive tells me of a much better time when people are honest and disciplined not because they are scared but because they know it is the right thing to do. That was the time when the roads and sidewalks of Manila are so clean you can lie down on them without fear of getting a disease, of the Pasig River so clean and pristine you can see fishes swimming below it.
The NPA pestilence actually thrived under Marcos' rule. People who are otherwise peaceful were forced into extremes when the dictator-controlled military hunted them. So the membership of NPA swelled to an all time high of 25,000. Right now only 5,000 of them remains and dwindling.
We are much better than the people who thinks the Marcos rule is the best that happened in their life. Time already proved that, and I believe in the future the whole country will unite to the ideal that absolute rule and corruption does not make a country strong.

Hello greenpeas, that's the problem if the Marcos dominated provinces, they will probably disregard the part of history when he was a cruel along with his wife. Still, the NPA is a threat along with MILF, MNLF, and BMFF, adding the abusayaff. but lives now a days is more dangerous now than ever. but with regards to that were free.

Well, opinions differ from person to person and we really don't know what Marcos' true motives are in declaring Martial Law. Some say Martial Law made the Philippines a greater country, even surpassing countries like Singapore and Hongkong. Others say it was the worst era since the Philippines have had Presidents. As for assassinating Marcos, I guess that would be as hard as hell seeing that he controls the police and the military so his security is tripled.
