I had an account with T-Mobile for over 5 years. I thought they gave very good customer service so that was the main reason for staying so long. Then I got my son a phone for Christmas last year. This naturally started a new 2 year contract again. That did not bother me. While I was getting the phone customer service asked if I would take the web. I asked him if the phone had to have it. He said no but that I got it free for 30 days anyway. So I said ok. BIG mistake. Give my son his new phone, tell him he has 30 days to try the web out as it was only 15.00 for like 2mb. Thats not much but there was no way I was going to pay another 40.00 for unlimited web. So after he had it a few days he said Mom I really don't use the web so you can cancel it. I said ok. I left it on there a few more months just in case. Well, I had the phone insurance on both or phones, and we got a notice that the insurance was going up 2.00 a phone. So I called and canceled the insurance. what was really funny was there was a plan that was not mentioned in the letter for like 4.69 a month from what the insurance lady told me. I was nice and thanked her. So then after discarding the insurance I talked to T-Mobile again and asked them to take the web charge off of 15.00. Oh no they said they could not do that. that the phone my son had Had to have that web. I told them what the rep said when I initially bought the phone. So figured that just let it go. Well the straw that broke the camels back was when I got my bill to pay on Oct.1. Got my bill in my email as always, and opened it up and told me my bill was ready I went over to make sure how much it was. when I logged on they had changed due dates to the 25th of Sept instead of the 1st of each month. Well I get my SS check and it comes on the last week of the month. So I was never late ever on a payment. I called them, and said there was a mistake on the due date on the bill that my payment has always been due on the 1st. the rep says well since the merger with AT&T the due dates changed. I said whoa wait a minute the merger has been stopped for now as its been all over the news. He said Well the dates changed because of the merger. I said who do I talk to about getting my due date back to the original. He turned me over to accounting. So now I am talking to a lady. She explains she cannot change my due date. I gently remind her how long I have been with the company. Did not matter they were not going to accomodate a good standing customer with good credit with them. so I did not argue with her, I just told her that I would be leaving T-Mobile as soon as I could get another contract. She informed me of a penalty on releasing my contract. but what she was NOT ready for was the fact that I had already figured up what the next year and 3 months would cost and that I would be out 1500.00 anyway and releasing the contract I would save approx $700.00 after paying their precious penalty charges and switching plans to boost mobile. I said have a nice day and hung up. Well yesterday I went in to Boost Mobile and got unlimited everything with unlimited to Canada for only 55.00 a month. When the poor girl at the office tried to call T-Mobile to get my number switched to them, they are not being to graceful when you change plans. But if you think about it, I paid them on the first of Sept, and they wanted ANOTHER payment on the 25th before I even got my income in. so basically if you think about it they are getting two payments in one month Or I should say you are shoveling out 2 payments out of your income in one month. So I am on a no contract plan and I will never go back to a contract phone again. Has anyone checked when their bill is due this month? Its totally crazy!

Only problem I have ever had was in Verizon. They say I have unlimited web for a month and then once the bill showed up, they charged me over $200 cause they say I didn't have unlimited web. After a lot of arguments, we didn't have to pay the web services. After my contract ended, I join up the pay per day plan from Alltel. Only paid $20 a month and I had unlimited text messages and night and weekend minutes. Since I love to text a lot than called they only charge me $0.75 a day, which was a good deal for me. Sadly Alltel was bought by Verizon and even though I pay the same, the phones are very expensive. I'm thinking of going to Boost mobile also. How good is Boost mobile?

I went in to the store to get mine. Some people buy over the internet and then say customer service is bad. But I don't have that problem. There are 3 stores I can go to in my area. So I would go to the store. The lady was very good and efficient getting my phone number from T-Mobile. T-Mobile was not going to assist her in canceling my contract and bless her she stood her ground. I was impressed because the minute we left the store our numbers ported to Boost and did not have to wait 3 to 4 days for another company to get our number. So I am satisfied with customer service. I have unlimited everything and even have a walkie talkie on my phone so my son and I can chirp to each other. I got a cheaper phone for starting the new contract. I will get a better one and keep this one as a backup. But for me it has everything I need including the text querty. I got the Motorola Clutch i465 for only 49.99. So my son and I both have the same one. I told him if he wanted a better phone he could buy one I got what I could afford for now considering I have to pay for breaking my phone contract and have to pay the bill off. So for me I am VERY happy with the switch over to Boost. And they have a shrinkage plan every 6 months your bill drops 5.00. Do that for 18 months and your 50.00 payment turns into 35.00 a month. If you get a blackberry it will be 60.00 with 5.00 drops every 6 months so in 18 months you are paying 45.00 a month. Not a bad program.

That's not a bad deal. I'm definitely going to try out Boost mobile. Sadly there isn't a store near me. Have to go to like Best Buy to get a Boost mobile or travel one hour to a Boost mobile store that I saw while heading to my grandparents house. I'll probably go to the store when I visit my grandparents again soon.

Yes check it out when you get a chance. Or you can go to www.boostmobile.com then you can get all the facts before you even decide to purchase a phone. And I got both my phones off the site and free shipping. I never got that with T-Mobile. Also if there is a phone you are interested in, there are sites where you can review the type of phone you think you would like to have. I bought a cheaper phone for now to be able to pay off my other bill, but the quality of the sound and talking through this company has been very good My girlfriend would call me from Canada on T-Mobile and we would be dropped through our conversations. Started noticing this as the merger was supposed to be getting closer. I now don't have to have my Canadian friends call me. It was only 5.00 to add Canada. I can now text and talk to them anytime i want that was really a nice add for me.

I have a Safelink cell phone. It is one of those kinds that are prepaid. I probably would have that kind if I didn't have the Safelink. I don't use it very often, because I am usually home. If I go outside to stitch or something I just take the landline phone with me. It is a cordless phone and there are 3 handsets, so I usually have one near me. It is a good idea to check every bill you get. I got a bill from Verizon for the landline and there were charges on there for all kinds of things. I just thought they were some kind of tax. None of them were a lot of money or I would have noticed sooner, but it all added up to around $10. For me that is a lot of money that I could spend elsewhere.

Yes this is what I got with T-mobile they added and added to my bill like govt fees etc. My bill was supposed to be 79.99 and turned out to be over 130.00 a month. So when I went in to Boost, I was shocked to have them tell me just 50.00. I really did figure it was 50.00 with taxes, and extra fees. But the good feeling is if something goes wrong I am no longer under a contract. Thank Goodness.

I used to have t-mobile several years ago, but I just had the minimal plan as I only had a very basic phone. After I couldn't afford it any more, I just canceled the service. I don't know if I was still on contract at that time or not. I got cell phones while I was in China and they were always pay as you go. I now have a net-10 phone on a 750 minute a month plan and I definitely prefer that to any contract. I don't think that I would ever go back to a contract phone again.

Hey there it's really sad that some companies actually do this to customers. I never been with t-mobile because i can't afford it i have metropcs lol it's cheap but i love it. It disappoints me to hear your story and i would be aware of not signing up with those companies, they should start appreciating their customers specially the ones that been with them for many years. It's a shame on them, but i'm glad your happy. :) Boost mobile. great choice!

Thank you so much for your kind words hazelme. Yea I got a feeling a lot of people will be leaving T-Mobile. I think I did good going to Boost considering its a division of Verizon. I used them for my wireless internet connection when I had to carry my lap top around a lot. I was homeschooling my son and having the connection on my laptop anywhere really helped so I could study and not always have to be at the house. it is a shame that companies do not respect their customers. Have a nice day and WELCOME to Mylot!
