So, I know most of my friends know that I have 2 cats in my avatar, Rygel is the white-eared cat and Oliver is the black and white kitten.
Well, that picture was taken about Christmas of 2005, so you know that Oliver is not a baby any more. In fact, he's a week from being 6 (on October 1st, 2011).
And Oliver was named because he was an orphan kitten, he was a week old when we took him in, and was named after Oliver Twist (tho I'm more apt to think the musical Oliver than the book...)
None the less, Oliver, strange cat that he is, likes olive juice - GREEN olive juice.
We had NO idea when we rescued him and named him Oliver he would like olive juice...
He's just a pretty strange cat all around - but he's sweet and he's our baby...
So, do any of your cats have tastes for strange food?

Princess was a stray, probably six weeks old maybe a little older. She is our Mexi Cat, as she likes salsa and refried beans. Go figure. I did not give them to her on purpose. My boys developed a craving for butternut squash when I was making soup a lot. They would cry for it from the moment I cut it open. When I make their home made cat food I add either butternut squash or canned pumpkin in it. Princess, likes that as well. I think that especially in the winter they need the vitamin A and the fiber.

I worry about the onions in the salsa, but she does not get much of it.

My neighbor gives her cats pumpkin when she thinks they're constipated.

I was eating tortilla chips the other day and my Allie had to come and investigate the package being opened. She has to smell everything that I eat to see if she wants some of it I guess. Well, I broke off a chip and she smelled and smelled, tried the tongue test and decided she liked them. She chowed down on about a half a chip before she decided to quit. Don't know what the appeal was to her, though. Maybe the saltiness. She also won't leave me alone until she gets a few bites of bologna from my sandwich when I have one. She will eat spaghetti too. I found her tossing a small bit of ham around the other day. Never did figure out where she had that squirreled away.
Cats can be so funny sometime. Never a dull moment.

Well, dry food is mostly corn, so corn chips aren't too different - I guess. My mom had a stray that loved her bologna "strings" and the Cat loved chocolate doughnuts (well, the outside was chocolate, the inside was yellow - that's what she got.)

I have 3 really weird cats. Miss Kitty Kat (mama), Missy Sissy Kat (daughter), Bubba Kat (son). Sissy is a very approate name for her because she is the sister and because she is a big sissy. Anytime Kitty or Bubba come near her she is in the defence mode becuse she always gets picked on by them. She even gets that way with me. Cowers like im trying to hurt her. Bubbas name fits him well too. Hes like a giant dufuss kitten. My kittens are now 4yrs old. But you can only tell Bubbas age by his looks. Kitty is the leader of the pack. Mama still very much in charge. Bubba doesnt cower to her but he knows shea the boss of him. Kitty is kind of psyco. Most my visitors are scared of her too. Just because she makes herself comfortable on your lap doesnt mean you are safe to pet her. Kitty like to sample just about anything she sees me eating. in fact alot of time swhen i sit down to eat she thinks she is invited too. Bubba eats some of my food too but not like Kitty. She loves mashed potaotes, cheese, ice cream. Ive catch both Kitty and Bubba laping up grease from pans and butter. I wouldnt even eat it like that.

When we had 8 or was it 9 cats we called them Snow White the 7 dwarfs, plus one. The one was either Prince Charming or the Evil stepmother depending on their behavior...
Nefret was always Snow White cause she was "the pretty one" and Scamp was always "Sneezey" cause... well... he sneezed! Gnu was "Doc" cause he was the smart calm one, after that, it became a toss up...

How funny it is!What a coincidence! Far be it from you to think that you called the cat oliver ,he really likes the olive juice afterward.Strange as it may sound. However I am not quite clear what olive juice is.

The olive is a tree and the fruit of that tree. It comes in green and ripe (black) forms.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olive
The roommate likes green olives, so we don't know if Oliver would like black olive juice as much as he likes green...
However, olive juice isn't the same as mango or orange juice, if you squeeze an olive you get olive oil, no, olive juice is the pickling brine that they pickle olives in.

of course, we don't pickle our OWN olives, we buy olives already pickled in jars

Wow, it is amazing that your cat likes olive juice!!! I have a siamese cat named Mona, she loves lollipops, and I don't know why, because I have heard that cat's can't taste sweet flavours. The thing is that, when I open a lollipop, she knows it for the sound of the paper and comes next to me wherever she is and starts asking me to give her some (on cat language of course) I let her lick it for a while and she licks it like there's no tomorrow. She complains a bit when I take it from her and say it's enough. Normally one of the lollipop sides it's flat!
For those who may wonder, I don't care finishing my lollipop after my cat has licked it because she is my baby and I know she is healthy and all. I say it because when I tell it to other people some say, ewww you lick it after your cat did, that is disgusting!

I don't have cats, but I do have a dog. Her name is Baby Girl and she's half chihuahua and half yorkie. She loves peppermint candies of all things! I keep the meltaway kind on hand because since I had surgery and my lung collapsed, I get choked easily. She can smell them in my purse, and if I don't watch her closely, she will try to find a way to get into it and get at least one piece out.
Thursday, I wasn't feeling well and laid down to take a nap. She was with me on the bed, my purse was on the ottoman at the end of my bed. She got down there and managed to get three of the cellophone wrappers out. She couldn't get them open, but they were scattered on the floor at the side of my bed, and it was obvious that she had been chewing on them, trying to get them open!

It's what our cat won't eat that makes him strange but also much easier to care for. He only eats his dry cat food that the vet prescribed. Oh, I think he'd eat any dry food, if I put it in his bowl. In his mind, anything else is distasteful. Should I drop a piece of meat on the floor, he'll smell it and walk away. He won't even eat canned cat food. When we first got Sleepy, we agreed that we would not feed him from the table. That makes our dining so much more enjoyable. I was pleasantly surprised to find that he won't eat people food. he vet was, too, as he's not supposed to have anything but the low ph dry cat food to prevent kidney disease.

I've had a lot of plastic lickers over the years, most seem to have some or a lot of Siamese in them, but I've known other people who's cats don't seem to have any that do it.
it seems there is some kind of oil - rumor has it fish oil - on the bags to keep them from sticking together TOOO much...

We had a cat once who liked to eat popcorn. When my husband started the microwave to pop the popcorn, the cat would be looking up at the microwave...just waiting. This same cat also liked to eat mini marshmallows. It was the weirdest thing watching a cat trying to chew on a marshmallow.

My mom's cat, Cat (she didn't name her), would drive us crazy for anything with milk.
Well, mom drank some instant hot chocolate and all that was really left was a half melted marshmallow, Cat reached into the mug and got that stuck on her foot...
OMG! She shook it! She bit at it! She shook it some more!
We finally had to take a paper towel and pull it off her foot!

My one cat would eat anything I did. He loved yogurt and any kind of fruit, even grapefruit. I would buy yogurt in container that he could fit his head in because when I had eaten most of it he would finish it off. I think he liked the juice in the fruit . They all loved petroleum jelly which I thought was odd. I would give it to them for hair balls and the vet told me to put it on their paws and they would lick it off. I didn't have to do that, they would just lick it off of my fingers. They probably would have just eaten it from the jar, but they couldn't get their head in.

I've had loads of cats sniff fizzing drinks, even one or two try to lap it, but I think they are more interested in the ice than the sodas!
Yeah, sneezing seems to be the normal response...
Yeah, I love my avatar too, such a great shot I have to use it!

I don't have a cat but I do have a dog called Michi. She is black on top and white underneath. She's mix of chihuahua and wiener dog. She loves to eat wiener, go figure.
There's also my cousins pet "oreo" who once accidentally ate chocolate but luckily didn't die.
