Is wisdom truly universal?

This is a hard one!!!! For example, does any one rule apply to every person in the world, or are there some exceptions? If you can think of a universal rule tell us. Also, help decide whether the rules posted are truly universal.

Welcome to My Lot. Wisdom is universal in the sense that it is possible for anyone to have wisdom & understanding, but not everyone wants wisdom or thinks they need it or they are concentrated in other areas. It is simpler to say that everyone can have wisdom, but not everyone will have wisdom. There are also many degrees of wisdom, which is not to be confused with worldly intelligence, by the way. There are also many that do have wisdom, but do not use it, which is a real pity. So in each of these situations we can see that free will plays a big part in this. There are many examples of universal rules in this world. We can see this in religions too. All the basic ones seem to be roughly the same the world over - don't kill, steal, lie, adulterate or intoxicate. Do you mean the My Lot rules? Yes - they apply to each & every member here, but not to non-members! So make sure you follow them when starting discussions, responding to them, responding to other members discussions & interacting with other members. If we think another member has broken the rules, we should report them for abuse using the "!" button. Happy MyLotting!

Ok, so you're saying that there are exceptions to some of the rules. Witch rules have no exceptions under any circumstances?

No - not exactly. I don't think there are exceptions to any rules... you break 'em, you pay the penalty, but what we should be clear about is what the best course of action is in whatever situation we find ourselves in & just do what we believe is right, the best thing for yourself & for others.

Wisdom aka commonsense, is the ability to properly apply acquired knowledge to your benefit or well-being of people you represent. Ans as you can see from my assertion, one has to gain wisdom. As per universal rules: I think it is outright insanity for anyone to assume a any particular rule can always apply to all people. Humans are not robots. Depending upon where people are and their ecosystem, what may very well work for one group may be a disaster to another.

And just what do you mean by "destroying the world"? Trying some "Pinky and the Brain" game?

Are you sure, what about (I know this sounds crazy) destroying the world? Is here a universal rule against that?

I don't think so. There is what we call a "rule of thumb" but that just means it's basically what everybody follows but as far as I know, those can also be broken. LOL There are certain laws that are universally true like the Law of Gravity but there had been researches that can now defy it.

No rule is certain. It must be put on a certain condition and certain time to be a rule.Rule is changing time to time.So no rule is universal to all
