My son found a site online, that was a real estate site showing various homes including farms and estates in our state. Most of them were very beautiful and spacious on a lot of land. However, yes we would have to win the lottery to buy any of them! There was one estate that was on nearly 1,500 acres. The house had 22 bedrooms,13 bathrooms and 9 fireplaces.Of course there were other buildings on the property, such as barn and stables. The price is a little over $1 million per bedroom! I asked my son, wonder how much the taxes are on that place? And I said,I don't know if I'd want it because if I did have it everyone would be knocking at my door. What would you think about owning a place that big?

If I could afford to have a house that large, then I think it would be fantastic. I could move my whole family into it. We could each have enough room to move around and not bother each other or get in each others way enough to annoy one another, but we would still be close enough to be there for each other whenever we needed and be able to interact every day. Of course, I would most likely turn a couple of those bedrooms into kitchens and living rooms, so each section of the family could have their own little "apartment", and we could use the large kitchen and living room for family events, such as Sunday dinner or something like that.

Your exactly right,if there was a problem then we would be there for each other, with out having to drive out in the bad weather! But,even if we all put what little money we had together it still wouldn't be enough

I think that is the beauty of it ... if we could afford it, of course ... is that you could see each other every day or once a week or however much or little you wanted and still live in the same house. You would be close enough so that if there was a problem you could be right there for each other and far enough away to not get under each others' feet all the time. Unfortunately, if we all pooled our money in order to be able to buy that place, we would only be a few million dollars short.

Our residence - Even this size house is not easy to maintain.
With labour shortage here in India it would be impossible to own such properties. I have a 2 storied bungalow and I am finding it difficult to maintain it. We have this richest guy here in India has managed to own one. His house has 27 floors,3 heli pads, 600 servants to maintain it. He must be paying high salaries to these people which ordinary persons could ill afford. http://www.zimbio.com/Mukesh+Ambani/articles/EHOF05RHt-B/Mukesh+Ambani+luxury+Homes+Mumbai And this is my house

Wow that is a huge place! Why does he need so much space? Your house is beautiful,I would be very satisfied with that..The past two years and 5 months my daughter and I have lived in a cheap room, now sleeping on my mom's floor. Labor,in this country is not very good either, the economy is falling. Both my adult son's and a lot of other people are and have been unemployed.

The only time I would own a place that big would be if I had the money to not only pay for the place, but to pay for a staff of workers to maintain it. LOL I am not interested in doing all that housework myself.

That sounds like my house! But a $1 million per bedroom? Well, if I were you and could afford the house without financial strain on other obligations, then I would buy the house. But if I cannot comfortably afford the house, and getting a loan would mean daily stress on me and my family, then I would simply enjoy dreaming about the 22 bedroom house with 13 bedrooms and 9 fireplaces!

I can't afford it and don't think I want to ever go thru the stress of trying to afford it. The only way it would be right is if about 7 or 8 families omong my family got it all together, but we would need 7 or 8 more kitchens and living rooms. But,we still could not swing it financially.

I would not want to own a place that big unless I had someone to help take care of it.

I don't think it's practical to have 22 bedrooms and 9 fireplaces! Perhaps it's something that is good if I own a bed and breakfast or an inn or a hotel, that would probably something that would be great if I had that type of business. However, I think for me to buy something like that and live there? That's horrifying! Yeah, it may be cool in the mornings but what happens at night? That seems like a horror house of some sort and I don't have a huge family to live in there. And all those bathrooms!!!! and rooms!!!! to clean?!?!?!?! hahahaha I'd go nuts! I would be cleaning the whole day and still couldn't get that house clean enough. But of course, it's different if I'm filthy rich and have all the servants in the world and my money is just flowing like a river! hahahaa.. Have a great Mylot experience today!

I'm wondering who the previous owner was? I mean having that huge land and house must have been for something, right?

I would like to own a nice house, but I would not ever want a house that big even if I could afford it. I don't see the point in having a house that big. Give me a bedroom for everyone, an office, a nice kitchen, fairly large family room and 1 maybe 2 bathrooms and I am good.

I'm with you,I must have at least 2 bathrooms.I've experienced this,we had 1 bathroom in an older house with old pipes and the toliet clogged in the middle of the night. We had to get dressed walk 2 blocks to our truck and drive 4 miles to a place that was open to use the bathroom. So,if one bathroom is not working at a no so great time, then we'd have the other one.

I really don't think I would want anything that big! I have a two-bedroom apartment right now and I don't even use the second room. I sure wouldn't want to pay the taxes on it. I don't think I would want to purchase something like that because not only is it too big, I know I wouldn't want to have to clean it! If I were trying to run a children's home or something I might consider something like that, but that is not something I am likely to do.

I wouldn't really wanna own a big place actually. But if I ever did, I would want to rent the whole house away and buy myself a small house and live there. I have always loved small houses, where me and my family fit perfectly. I think 2 storied houses are perfect for me and the fam.

Those big house are for us to see on the cinema screen or internet. It is ideal not to worry about those unreachable levels. It is not possible to buy with three rooms. Cost is very high or that much amount is not with majority of us. interesting of course to think on those line. enjoy.
