Biopsy report shows malignancy.

Earlier in two of my previous discussions about the illness of one of my relatives I stated that I am quite hopeful about the biopsy report of the specimen sent to the pathological laboratory. But unfortunately the biopsy report shows evidence of malignancy contrary to my firm belief that it would be of benign nature. He is now in urgent need of C.T Scan of whole abdomen and some other specilaised investigations to detect if there is presence of any secondary metastasis anywhere in the body. If all the reports are favourable, it means there might not be any metastasis. One hopeful aspect of the biopsy report is that it is ‘carcinoma in situ’, that means a good prognosis can easily be expected if proper management can be made possible. So, as further measure, tomorrow at 9 A.M, a repeat surgery would be done for resection of duodenum with a portion of stomach and jejunum followed by gastrojejunostomy. If the operative procedure is successful, then further opinion of a radiotherapist and an oncologist should be sought for the next line of management. I hope almighty God will be with us and would also request all of you to pray to God for him.

A serene acceptance and doing all that is possible with serenity would bring so much a favorable condition and the person surrounded by such encouraging persons may get sustained and it will bring positive results.

I join you and your family in prayers and hope that with proper management your relative's condition will back to normal if not stay away from the dreaded big C. My father had a was diagnosed to have a stomach cancer but with prayers and family support,he recover and cancer was ruled out eventually. This is the time the family must be united and closer.

I will pray for your relative, hoping that he gets well, and you have peace in your heart. I know is sad when somebody you love is living that kind of situation but keep up your faith, this is going to help you. Without faith a man can do nothing; with faith all the things are possible. God is the light that shows me the way, for there is nothing that God cannot do.

For your kind information, his operation is successful and he has now been shifted to the 'General Ward' after observation for 1 day in I.C.C.U. The resected specimens have been sent to a renowned pathological laboratory for histopathological tests and on that report, further management now depends.
