Well, if you have you might want to consider buying up some properties in the US especially this 17,000sq ft Mediterranean-style mansion, which has five bedrooms and 8 bathrooms, that sits on the scenic Gulf of Mexico, in Clearwater which use to be the abode of the famous professional wrestler of the WWE Hulk Hogan.
I am sure fans would be aware of his recent financial downfall and he is now trying to release his mansion which features a gym and spa, five-car garage and a pool with a two-tier waterfall.
He is so desperate that he had reduced the asking price to US$8.85 million from the original US$25 million.
Though, I have to admit that this is a good bargain, I cannot help feeling sorry for him and other celebrities that are having similar financial predicaments.
Sad, isn't it?

At first I was so excited to this news since I made a silly mistake. As I am near-sighted, I thought it cost US$9 and I didn't notice "million":) I just feel very curious why it was so cheap after I read your discussion in details. Then I found that I made a huge mistake in the title. It was US$9 million:) Unfortunately I don't have so much money right now. Wish one day I could afford it:)
I love China

youless,
U$9 will be a steal but I am sure the taxes for it will be much more than the sales price here.

It is so sad to see so many properties going under the hammer especially belonging to those once wealthy world personalities. It is not going to be easy to fork out so much of money to buy properties where the asking prices are far too high. Having US$9 mil is only a dream for most of us who are working class people. It is a pity that such a beautiful house is up for sale.

zandi458,
My exact sentiments too.
However, I feel that the countries are partly responsible for the current state of the world's catastrophic economy which led to many people loosing their house and their investments.
As for the working class, there's been a majority in that category loosing their jobs and eventually livelihood.

brew2x,
Well, that's one way of looking at it.
But, I do not think any one would ever pay the whole sale upfront in cash for the purchase, it is just not financially viable and sensible.
I believe you've overlooked the fact that one could still own the property by buying up using available financing schemes and let a property management agency manage it who might be partially renting it for some time share or some commercial and/or filming purposes to finance the financial commitments for the mansion. Then, when the market conditions returns and ideal market price for it has reached with the economic recovery, dispose of it with an astronomical profit.
Just a passing thought, here.

hi sky success oh do hand me a hanky while I cry , nO I have no tears for these celebs who cannot hang on to their money. they
have the same right as any one else who lives less high
on the hog, that is to budget and live within your means
and save save save.No its not sad at all, sad is when your son loses his job and we got behind on the rent and were evicted.
sad is when we were homeless and sad is when I have to be here in this tiresome retirement center as there was no place else to
go. so hulk hogan may have to live a bit cheaper b ut so what, he can manage it I am sure. lol loll

Hatley,
I suppose that's another way of looking at it.
I do agree that celebs like Hogan has it coming but again it is equally sad how they waste their life like that.

i think it is sad.
the thought that he is so desperate to have it sold would mean he is in desperate need of money. what makes it more sad for him, i think, is the feeling of failure. being able to acquire such a huge property is an indication that once he was able to obtain money on his own and achieve a goal. i guess, the bigger it is, the bigger the feelings of frustration.
also, it could be sad for him knowing that he has it and looses it while others still have it.

bingskee,
As the saying goes, the higher the climb - the harder the fall and I think this actually befalling on the Hulk here.
I really do not know what is going on in their minds and doing with their monies when they were at their prime. But, one thing for certain - investing it wasn't in their minds. Over the years, I am sure you are familiar with such downfalls from professional sportsmen, celebrities and even big lottery winners. I am just baffled where their minds were when it comes to managing their wealth.
Sad isn't it?
