"Typical" or "ideal" middle class life (in the US?) is that you go to school, participate in some sports team, play an instrument, go to a university, graduate, get a good job, become a tourist in another country with the income you made, get married, have kids, get a nice house & car, etc. So was your life "cookie cut" like that or did it have unexpected twists and turns? Mine twisted a couple of times! I used to wish life was all 'simple' but looking back, I'm glad my life was as unique as mine. What about you? How has your life become unexpected and your own?

MyLife was anything but cookie cutter. It started off fine, it seemed like thing would go my way, then that fateful day came, I got married. Well, I thought it would be fine, and again, it started out great, years later, thee was a bump, it was fixed, then a few more years, the kids were born. At this stage, everything was moving in the right direction, then the bump turned into a brick wall. The hammer fell, whatever you want to call it. The turn was more of a twist is the worse then a car wreck, my life was taken from where it was to a totally new uncharted road. Thats where I am now. Nothing is perfect.

I've had my share of twist and turns in life. My life wasn't as normal as you've described in your post. One main reason is because I live in another country, a third world country that is. Another reason is because my family wasn't perfect and we've had our share of nightmares in the past. But I don't regret my past and in fact cherish it. My experiences defined me of who I am and I am very thankful for that.

I had many unexpected twists and turns. I wouldn't have it any other way or I wouldn't be the person I am nor have the kids I have. No sports, no trave out of US and too many trials. My life was like the weather. I just never knew what was around the next ben. Things changed without notice.

Sadly for us here, your "typical" or "ideal" middle class life is a rich man's life for us. Not most of us could afford those things. In that way, I consider my self to be lucky sometimes. I have most of those so I'm probably on the way to that cookie cut life as you describe it, but, being where I am, I know that somewhere in the future, there would be some twists and turns. I just hope that they would be good twists, like I find the perfect business that would make me rich. Filthy rich!

Life is something that is not stable. It is filled with ups and down. There are times that you enjoy your life and things keep moving perfectly well. However, there are times you find yourself at a cross road. I have experienced the good, bad and ugly. However, i still thank God for being alive. There is a popular adage that goes this way, " When there is life, there is hope"

well, I never participated in a team sport, or play an instrument - tho I did take piano lessons, I never was going to be any good at it... Never PLANNED to get married and never did, so kids/husband/that stuff wasn't ever part of my plans, but a house and car, yeah...

I did all the things you mentioned, however it was not typical for me. I had a lot of twists and turns for which I had to and still do struggle with. So to a sense I have had a unique life as none of the things I did were in a particular order and I had to juggle back and forth to accomplish most of them.
