UEFA has lost the trial against Sion and now they have to put Sion back in the Europa League, despite two games being played.
A civil court has given right to Sion and they should play in the groups instead of Celtic Glasgow.
I haven't seen any official statement from UEFA yet, but it will be interesting to find out what UEFA is going to do.
Will they put Sion in the Europa League and take Celtic out? If so, with how many points? Or they will act like nothing has happened and will oppose the law?

Hey man, sorry for my ignorance but what happened between Sion, Celtics and UEFA? I haven't heard about it before.
But with the informations that you gave here, I think it is a big problem for UEFA. If they put Sion in Europa League, they would rematch the games that Celtics made. There is a great chance that Atletico and Udinese complain about it, but it is the fairer option.
I don't think they wil ignore the law. In my opinion it is the worst option, because it opens precedent to other team do wrong things. Happy mylotting.

UEFA has stated that Sion has used a player despite not having valid license for that. Sion has knocked Celtic out from the competition, but because of this, UEFA has kicked out Sion and Celtic has qualified this way to the group stages. Sion was sure that they are right so they intended civil lawsuit against this decision, and the civil court has given right to Sion. It is a complicated situation, because there are already two games played so far in the group, which will make Atletico and Udinese play two additional games.
Celtic has no fault, they have just benefited from an apparently wrong decision of UEFA.

It is a very complicated manner. We know that UEFA is never admitting doing mistakes, they always come up with excuses.
If you ask me, they won't change anything, they will maybe even punish Sion for turning to civil court, which they forbid in the majority of cases.

I see it now. It is really difficult situation, because the more they take, the worse it gets. If they wait too much, they will have 3, 4 matches to do again. So they need to do something fast. Don't UEFA say anything about it yet?
I don't know the strong from Sion, because I've never heard about it before this, but this situation can shake UEFA and Europa league's image. But I still think they need to put Sion back and rematch the games with Atletico and Udinese. Happy mylotting.

What was the reason why UEFA took action against Sion? Was it the Financial Fair Play aspects? Or was it any other issue?
Cheers!

UEFA claimed that Sion has used a player without having license for that. Sion claimed that the player has the right to play, so they have filed a civil lawsuit against UEFA and the civil court has given right to Sion.

Yes, it is a minor offense, but they were excluded from the group stages for that. Now, UEFA should take them back, but this would influence the group's standings and the program of the teams which are in that group. Not to talk about the financial losses of Sion, if they will not be accepted back. If the court decided they haven't done anything wrong, why were they punished?

This is simply crazy situation to be in and this will set a precedent for other clubs. Clubs who got booted out will start contesting the decision and make a mess out of the tournament. As much as I do not like UEFA, I felt they should stand firm with the decision. They have to stand firm in the circumstances.

But if the decision is wrong, then another precedent is created, and UEFA could ban every team they like, for no reason, without having to pay for that.
What if some officials from UEFA will have some arguments with some of the officials of a team and they will boot that team out just for that? Can this be accepted?
I guess no organization is above the law, and if Sion hasn't made any mistake, why should they be punished?

Is there really such a happening in UEFA? What happen to Sion and why are out being replaced in the first place? I've not heard anything concerning Celtic at the start of this campaign other than the one affecting Benfica and Fenerbache. There are too many surprises in this season's Europe league, and that really makes it exciting, not just by watching matches, but what's about to unfold right in front of us.

UEFA has decided that Sion has used a player without valid license in the qualifications, so they have put Celtic in their place, despite Sion qualifying in the direct encounter with Celtic.
What was the deal with Benfica? Because I know only about Fenerbahce being removed from the Champions League because of the match fixing scandal they were involved.

Benfica had nothing to do with the match fixing scandal. Are you sure that Fener had to go through qualifying? I don't remember this anymore.
But this is another thing, Fenerbahce's situation is completely other than Sion's, because it is not sure that they have made anything against the rules. It will be interesting to see how UEFA will handle this situation.

Before Fenerbache was confirmed being involved in the scandal, they have played the qualifying rounds and they are the ones who faced benfica, and beat them. Yet benfica took their place due to the scandal. However now the scandal is not going to affect champions league, benfica might be out instead.
