Birthday food request

When I was a kid I always requested my favorite torte as my Birthday cake. And the meal I remember requesting was either take out pizza from Little Caesars Pizza or my Mom to make me lasagnia. All were things I didn't get very often. My Mom thought lasagnia was too expensive to make and well why go out for pizza when frozen was available and a bit cheaper. Nowdays I just want to go out to eat. I prefer Chinese when I can get it otherwise I'm not to picky as long as it's a sit down meal the the kids behave. Today is my youngest's Birthday! He's 4 and his request was mac'n cheese w/ meat and salsa so that's what we are having for dinner. Though because him & his eldest sister are a few days appart we did go out for lunch one day per their request for something special and their Great Aunt treated them to Chuck E. Cheese. Any special birthday requests for your Birthday? Your childs birthday?

I don't have any special request for my birthday. My mother and grandmother always made noodles for me by hands on my birthday, when I was young. Then I left home for school and work in another city now, I cook noodles with eggs myself. My parents always remembered my birthday, they telephone me to cook something good on that day.

I make noodles too. Hubby likes it if I make them for chicken noodle soup.

Oh yes, when I was a kid, I used to request for Curd Vada (a south Indian delicacy) and mom will make it either on my birthday or the following Sunday. Now a days, my daughter requests Mysore Pa (another south Indian special sweet) and son requests for fresh cream cake and ice cream. So I let them indulge with their wants.

Jill you are dating yourself! Shhhhh...... We used to do that sort of thing for Birthdays, Mother's day, and Father's day. We just haven't had the funds like we used to before I was home with the kids. We will one day again!

I think it is a great idea to be treated to a birthday meal and I do it every year. :) I used to have my mom make this yummy meat dish she would make, its like beef steaks that she slow cooks in stewed tomatoes and onions and serves over mashed potatoes. it was my favorite meal growing up and i still make it to this day, but now on my birthday if I can I like to go out because then it gives me a break from cooking.

There isn't really a recipe its just been a taught recipe but all you need to do is: Place beef steaks in the bottom of a crock pot and season them with: seasoning salt, parsley, garlic and pepper. Pour 2 cans of stewed tomatoes on top and chop about 2 medium onions and put that on top, cook for 5-6 hours(the longer the better) and serve over homemade mashed potatoes. It has very few ingredients and it can be changed around to suit your taste.

Still sounds like something the hubby would like and the kids so long as the onions disolved during the cooking process the kids won't eat them if they can see them *LOL* :0)

Happy Birthday to your big little guy! As a child I was not allow to request, and I suppose that is why I grew up as an Adult without really requesting as I guess I was just not accustomed to it. I do remember taking mine to Chuck E. Cheese and all the fun places upon their requests too. I guess we did/do those things as we once did were not able to. It is so much fun to see them feeling so special on their special day. Wow Mac N Cheese w/meat and Salsa sounds good to me too. My birthday is October 12th and my boyfriends is October 17th so we meet in the middle sometime shortly after mine and or before his, depending on which is the weekend. Although this year he is performing in a show so we might have to postpone it a bit. My daughter requested on her last birthday for all us to go bowling and we had Pizza delivery there, so it was a blast.

Well I got to request when I was a kid. Usually my Aunt would take me somewhere cool like 6 Flags or Noah's Ark for a day trip. But food I was usually able to request things as that's all my Mother cared about much of the time. It is good! Try it! Plus it's cheap! ;0) Oy more people in october huh! We have 4 people in our family within 5 days time. Thankfully we only get the kids gifts and do things for them. Too expensive otherwise to do things plus one is out of state. That sounds like a good idea but I think my lil guy may be still a bit too small for bowling and it's something we haven't done in years. Usually we don't do much between cost and their age.

Yes when I was a little child I always wanted them to take me to Chuck E. Cheese but never got a chance so they would send me to Mcdonalds and I go home with lots of food. Fries, burgers, nuggets, and my favorite Ice cream.

Now did you have a party there or just went there as your special meal? I think I ate there too much as a child way too much! I really don't care much for it now. Chuck E. Cheese I do enjoy but if you don't have a coupon or extra money to spare a person could easily go broke in there after a few hours.

When I was a kid I got to choose what we'd have for dinner, and sometimes I got to choose a restaurant to eat out at. These days it depends on finances and everything else. I try to choose something for them that they'd enjoy, like for my oldest's birthday I'll usually make my homemade mac n cheese which he loves. I think last year for the twins we did hot dogs and mac cheese. It's usually a kid friendly meal like hot dogs or chicken nuggets. The twins are tough because it's nearly impossible to please them both. What I'd have to do is let the daughter pick out a dinner one night, and the son pick out the dinner the next night. The only thing hubby requests is his lemon cake with lemon frosting, but this year we did not do a special dinner for his birthday. I did do a special dinner for Father's Day though.. he got steaks and my home made mac cheese.

I would love somebody to give me surprise birthday party with loads of pasta, pizza and friend chicken...and more cheese! I am not really a huge fan of birthday cakes, so with them or without them it would be fine, as long as I have pasta with white sauce and extra doses of cheese on it.

When I was little, I loved a cake my mom made with egg white frosting on top and lots of coloured small pearls on top. She also made hot chocolate with cinnamon and clove and I could ask for friend cheese empanadas. Now I invite my friends and family for my birthdays and I cook and they bring the presents and the fun

Our family does tend to eat out on a fairly regular basis, so when it comes to my birthday, I like to pick something that we never eat at any other time during the year. For example, this year for my birthday we went to a Japanese steakhouse, because I love the food and I love the show that they have. Now, my son's birthday is on Thursday and he is going to be five years old. His main requests have been Gatti Town and a birthday cake that looks like an M&M. Oh, and he wants to be allowed to play with his friend D (I'm still working on that one).

When i was still a child it was always fried chicken and spaghetti that i would want for my birthday and it's still are until now. As for my child , it would always be to eat out at her choice of restaurant. Last Christmas, which happened to be her birthday too, we had lunch at Shakey's. In the afternoon, we bought a cake and ice cream and took out what i cooked the eve of Christmas, like spaghetti, buco salad among others and celebrated her birthday again.
