Well today is my son's 33 birthday and I remember the day very well! Right now though it's sunny with above temperatures not like this same day so long ago. Do you remember what the weather was like and other details of important days in your life? Tell us about an important day and what the weather was doing!

Yes, I remember of all things, my wedding day. That is because it was cloudy and rainy, but when my husband and I stepped outside, he pointed out that the church property was bathed in sunshine, while everywhere else it was cloudy. So we had a mix, like our marriage, he is one way, and I am another, which sometimes collides into a storm...

I think your statement has a double meaning Jill.. I sometimes wonder if I should have stayed home myself...

Yep... it was in the middle of one of the worst blizzards when my daughter was born. My husband took me in our old '72 Chevy pickup that could do anything. I remember when we left I had to climb over a snowdrift to get in. We got on the interstate from a side road, otherwise we wouldn't have made it because it was blocked every where else. A police car saw us and came to escort us to the hospital, although I don't know how he could see any better than we could. She was born about 4 hours after getting there... it was Christmas Eve. What a beautiful day Christmas was! Sunny, bright and everything covered with snow and ice and a new baby daughter as our Christmas gift.

Thirty-three, huh? He's still a young'un.
For some reason I remember my 13th birthday well. It was like a blizzard. Maybe it was memorable because my birthday is March 1st, and we usually aren't getting blizzard like conditions in March. Plus, I made it to church (it was a Wednesday night). To be fair, at the time I lived next door to the church. I should have just made it seem like I trekked thirty miles in the snow to get there, right?

WE lived right behind our church when I was little...one easter it was snowing so bad we couldn't make it just across the alley. I remember my dad trying to carry me...he sunk into snow up to his waist...we went back in the house and changed our of our Easter finery....so I'll give you credit for making it!

Hi Jill!
My niece just had her 4th birthday and it was a rainy birthday just like her birthday last year and the previous years. I remember her first birthday where I gave her an angel costume and it was a birthday easily remembered because of the pouring rain outside while the kids and my relatives are having fun eating inside our house. My niece was "raining", too because she threw tantrums and cried a lot during her birthday.

Happy (belated) birthday to your son.
I don't usually recall the weather on a particular day unless it affected me in some way, or if it was unusally bad weather. Like, everyone around here remembers the Labor Day storm of 1998. I'm sure most people wouldn't remember that it was 1998, but they remember the huge Labor Day storm. I remember that it was 1998, because I was supposed to start a new job that day, which of course got cancelled due to the storm.. everyplace was closed down. We were in a state of emergency. But I didn't know the job had been closed that day, I was showering and getting ready to go into work. While in the shower my mother comes rushing in telling me I need to look at my son's hand. My son was a year old at the time. My mom had just lost her vision. She knew he was bleeding, but couldn't tell how bad. I took one quick look at it and knew he needed to see a doctor. He had almost cut the tip of his pinky finger off.. it was basically only attached by the nail.
I threw on some clothes and rushed to the nearest doctor's office.. at the time I wasn't really sure of what I should have done. Obviously the doctor's office could not see him, but they did help me bandage his hand before sending me off to the ER.
I remember driving on the highway stuck behind tractor trailers, in the pouring down rain and extremely high winds. The winds were so bad that trees had been uprooted all over the place causing some homes to be without power for weeks! It was the most terrifying drive of my life!
Everything turned out okay though. My son got his finger stitched up. There was no damage to the bone, just the skin.

Happy Birthday to your son. I remember the weather when our first daughter was born. It was December and in the midwest there is no telling what can happen in just a few hours with the weather situation. I was really concerned but we made it in plenty of time and didn't have any snow although the prediction was for a snow storm to hit the area.

I sure do remember hot day when first daughter was born and a warm day when second was born. The funnest part of the birth of the second daughter is she was born during Dallas, a television show that I never missed until that day. My husband tells everyone that daughter was born early just so I won't see Dallas.

I definitely remember the days of my childrens births very well, LOL....my son turned 8 in june this past year and even though I dont know what the weather was like that day outside they told me it was sunny, my water broke at 3:30 in the morning and we were at the hospital by 4 am so I never saw what the day was like outside and he was born at 9 pm that night.
my daughter was born in January and I had contractions for a couple days before we went in to the hospital to have a stress test... it was grey and cold that week, no snow but just cold outside.
my last son was born last October... he will be 1 yr old in 3 wks and it was sunny and 60s when we went in the hospital because i had contractions for 3 days and said I didnt want to wait another day to see if nothing was going to happen...sure enough an hour after being on the monitors my contractions spiked and he was born a few hours later.
and I always tell people on my wedding anniversary how it was sunny and 44 on March 16 so many years ago when we were married.

I remember as in a movie the day I got married and the days my two children were born. There are other days I remember like that in minute details. Sometimes, I daydream remembering them. I can even walk through the streets of the city where I went for my honeymoon, nearly 50 years ago.

I remember the weather when all three of my children were born. I also remember the Halloween blizzard followed by the shirt sleeve Halloween. I remember when I was 15 and worried there would be no snow for Christmas! It snowed Christmas Eve Day.
Funny how that works? Isn't it?
