If it could be possible to delete our own responses?

Hi there !
Sometimes our own responses get uploded twice or thrice due to technical glitch.
We do not have any option to 'delete' our such responses.
I was thinking if a 'delete' option could be introduced to erase our duplicate responses, it would have been very useful.
No doubt Mylot removes our duplicate posts, when they get to notice it. However, they just can not come to know whether we posted duplicate responses due to some technical problem at our end or otherwise.
Would you agree with me an option to 'delete' our own duplicate responses could be very helpful to all of us?

Yes in a perfect world/site the option would be nice. However, think about the many who might not use it properly. There are many things here not used properly and a delete in my opinion would be a disaster. Erm the DRS system for example.
I am sure many as yourself and others would probably use it correctly but think about some issues where members, healthy or unhealthy cause debates. The some decided to delete activity simply because they find it to their best interest, causing for all other activity not to make sense.
Which might cause for misunderstanding and perhaps flames. Therefore, the (!) report feature is the best option as this way Admin determines if it is okay to remove and or not. I know I use it often when I see my internet lags and I get the double posting.
I can only assume that when myLot decided to give us the (!) feature it was well thought out as I understand years ago this feature was not in existence.

HWG!
My emphasise was a delete button option only in case of duplicate posts, nothing else. However, am thankful to you for enlightening me. I have observed that most of the time duplicate posts get uploaded, when I try to upload through my mobile.

Yeah that is what I read from an old Admin suggestion discussion that it was here but others had to report, where thankfully it was then allowed for all of us to have.
As always PPE, though I was not here back in those days, I do find your suggestions to have made the modifications here Priceless!

Many a times this happened with me as i try to post the net slows down and ti shows up blank i had to reload the page or use the back arrow for getting back the typed response so that i can submit it again
I would also wish for a delete button side to the post response so that we can delete and correct our mistake.

Yeah, if we could have such option, things would have become easier. However, others friends have informed that if need be, we could write to admin for it.

You can not help it.
You need to be a bit cautious and careful while responding to post. If you feel that contents of the post appear to be doubtful viz a viz guidelines, you could choose not to respond to that post.

Hi deepak, this is something that I have always wished we had here on mylot
.The option to edit and delete what we have posted. However careful we are, there are times when we do make some silly mistakes and realise it only after posting , and it is too late by then...enjoy your weekend

Hi Kiran!
I think, our wishes are not going to be fulfilled because others friends have told that we could write to admin for deletion, in case of duplicate posts, which means an option already exists.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
@Jlyn10 - the emphasise was only allowing us an option, in case of duplicate posts. It has nothing to do with preview. I feel that you have not faced this problem so far.

hi kiran I am repeating this so you and all others know the report button is not just to report discussions that break the ru les b ut you c an also use it to report your posts that thru a glich copied themselves leaving yoyu with duplicates, its good to use this when you see that a glitch gaveyou a second or evern third copy as then they will not later delete it and charge you with having p ost duplicates. I thought everyone knew the report tab can be used too
for the purpose of deleting things you post that made copies of themserlves or for any other reason you want to delete your
own posts. I did it once for a post that I just did not like
the way I had worded it and they did it for me at once.

I was just giving a suggestion to kiran as she said that sometimes we make some silly mistakes and realize it too late after pressing the submit button.
Yes, I have faced this duplicate post problem before but not very often and like what Hatley said, just report it and Admin would do the rest.

Hello dpk! I know there's an option for us to delete our post. That is, to report it to admin, if I am not mistaken.
Well, have you ever had issues like your post made double or even triple? If you ask me, I did experienced that quite some time and I have deleted my double or triple post. May I ask what are you trying to say in here? that we should have this option, well, there is and please tell me what you are trying to say cause I feel confused.
I did delete my post that time, and what am I thinking is that what if I didn't delete it? Will my earnings for that post be doubled as well or tripled?
What do you think?

I am sorry, I missed your question.
You see, even if we do not report to admin about our duplicate posts, admin will automatically delete our duplicate posts, later or sooner and they will intimate us accordingly.
Our earnings are not doubled, even if we post two separate responses to a discussion, leave alone posting duplicate response.

Hello Deepak,
We cannot delete other's response as well as our own response/comment only thing we can do is to report it to admin by using ! and then its admin's job to delete those response/comment if finds a valid reason to delete it.
And yes duplicate post is the valid reason admin will surely delete it once it is reported of course it will take time.

hour the two were deleted for me so they will work faster on
those copies you get due to a glitch.

Hi Kala!
My intention to get such a option is - where we ourselves could erase only our duplicate responses.
Some Friends have responded that we could report the matter to admin.
You see it is only we know that duplicate response got uploded due to technical glitch, therefore, it would have been very useful to get such an option.
Thank for joining.

why is it that nobody seems to know that the report button used to report an insulting post can also be used if you find you have tow or three copies of your post because of a mylot glitch. you use the same report button and explain thru a glitch you now have three copies of the post you just wanted one of and ask them to delete
the copies. they will do that and not penalize you for the extra copies. also if you find that you just plain do not like the post you have written you can use the report button and explain you goofed on the post and just want it deleted .they will do this for you. so the exclamation pointbutton is used for different things.

You are soooo right, and I do stand corrected. I have nothing to say in my defence other than....I stay away from that funny button...and haven't explored the other possibilities of it.
And, I think in my other defence...it's like dpk was intimating..it would be nice if we do to it ourselves with admitting our "faux pas" to the powers that be!
Hear you are having wonderful sunshine Hatley..hope you can get some of that Vitamin "D" and package it up for me...it is FALL coolish here!

dpk you have been here long enough to have read all the info? we do have a button for that its the exclamation point that is used also to report a discussion that has b roken my lot rules. here instead the tell the admins that through a glitch you found yo u had posted not one but two responses. In my case I had to report four and was I confused as to why this happened. they will automatically then delete it for you and yo u will not be penalized for duplicates. its best to use the button as soon as you see that through' a glitch you have duplicate posts before leaving it as this way you will not be charged with having duplicate
posts.I wish mylot admins made it clearer that you can ask them to delete something that copied itself with the same button you use to report a post that breaks the rules. so many here do not know that the report button has double uses.

In Facebook and mypage5, we have option to delete our duplicate comments. I was thinking on that lines.

A lot of my comments get posted twice because my internet isn't all that great, and it will tell me that I have to reload the page. Because of this, it makes me think that the comment hasn't been posted but often this isn't the case and I find that I have to report my own post to them. They would be able to save a lot of time and effort if we were able to delete them ourselves. Maybe a system where we had an hour during which to delete our posts after they were put online would work, as this means that it wouldn't affect our earnings.

You are very right that if we notice that due to technical glitch, our response got uploaded twice, we could delete it, without writing to admin.

In case of duplicate posts, we could use exclamation mark (!) to report to admin. They would delete the duplicate post, we requested. Only thing is we need to write to them. My idea was if it could be done at our end, then it will become easier.

Hi jen!
Dear friends have informed that in case of duplicate posts, we could use exclamation mark (!) to report to admin. They would delete the duplicate post, once we make a request to them.
Only thing is we need to write to them. My idea was if it could be done at our end, then it will be more convenient.

You are absolutely right, this was the basic idea to start this post .......
.
If we could do it ourselves, it would be quicker and we won't feel any kind of guilt that we posted a response twice. (It happens mostly, when I use my mobile phone for mylotting)

hi nurseclare I do not know if this has been put in the mylot info but we do have a button for that use , use the same button you would use to report bad posts only tell mylot admins you wish to have the extra copies you got thru a glitch of your one post deleted and they will do this. so the report button is to be used for both reporting bad posts and for us to ask that duplicate copies we got accidentally can also be deleted. y ou can do this yourself but you must use the report button and just explain you ended up with not one post but two more copies

hello dpk,
i think there is nothing left for me to speak over.whatever i'll write in here will be considered as a duplicate response as many have answered your query before i could land up here.anyways.
i always use report button if i get to notice my own response posted double.even in my discussion,if any of the response is been posted two times,i do report for the same.

No , I like it the way it is. If we could delete our own posts , some hacker could find a way to delete other MyLotters posts. I hate when my post comes up more than once. I always email Admin so they can delete the copy. The last time I did this I got an email saying Why a post was deleted! The way it is is safer.
