Can you site what are the most common issue on DVD writer especially in most laptops that you been encountered. It seems that there are a lot of issue have encountered with some of my friends. I think this is due to the insufficient drive space. Maybe the Hardisc don't have enough space to write or to burn a DVD. May it be also a problem on the disc or firmware?

After changing a new DVD burner. I often have problems to burn my DVD. I wonder this is the problem of the DVD burner but I have no more time to deal with it. So I have to burn the DVD with the slowest speed and this can avoid any problems when the DVD is burning.

yes when there is no sufficient space means as if we want to record or copy somethign excess which will not fit a dvd of low space. However we can not know what it the actuall problem for not writing.

I think its because laptops are not made for such a task. I know that the processor has a lot to do with DVD writing so if you don't have a strong one then you can do all the functions needed.

Apart from hardware issues, the most common problem I've seen is bad caching. If the laptop doesn't have enough memory or the software used for DVD writing is inefficient, the machine has trouble caching enough content to keep the burn constant - so it fails.
