Do you find happiness in measuring ingredients and being precise? Do you like to follow instructions, procedures, and methods? Do you find baking as a science as well as an art? Do you like your kitchen to smell sweet and inviting? Do you find the smell of fresh bread in the morning hypnotic? Do you find it exciting and amusing kneading a dough and bring it to life? Do you find it humbling by just using simple ingredients you can make wonderful baked goods? Do you like to see the wonderful smiles of the people that eats your sweet creations and baked goods? If your answer is all yes then your definitely a baker. People find baking a little daunting with all the work to be done ahead of time, all the preps, preciseness in measuring, proper temperature, following recipes and formulas, and attention to details. All this hard work is a little bit harsh and stressful for a cook, but for a homebaker the whole process from preparing your ingredients to pulling the finished product out from the oven and decorating them is very relaxing .There is an old stereotypes that cooks are intuitive open minded soul who cook by the seat of their pants, whereas a baker are precise and are controlling slaves to a recipe. But all the hard work a baker does are rewarded with praises and wonderful smiles from family, friends, and special someone. Its this reaction and sense of achievement that brings back bakers to the kitchen again and again. So are you a baker?

I definitely am a baker. I love to make something to surprise or please someone. I enjoy the measuring, creaming together butter and sugar, etc. I also use to love volunteering as a 4-H leader and teaching others how to do the same. There is nothing better than making something from scratch and smelling it bake in your oven. The smell goes throughout your home and is so inviting. The smiles on the faces, the Mmmm's, the comments, etc., make ones day. Have a wonderful day.

Yes I can feel that your serious homebaker and very true to your craft. Its really nice to hear that even in this day baking has never been forgotten and never will be forgotten. hehe.. i also enjoy measuring all the ingredients and i feel peaceful in baking than in cooking, cooking tends to be some what scary for me no measurements no preciseness and i definitely do not trust my sense of taste for salty food it tends to get bland or too salty yayks! that's no good right?and hot kitchens then to have little tolerance to organizing. While for a pastry kitchen its the opposite. Before I really don't know what creaming suppose to do to a baked good but through experiences and studying the art i definitely understand their functions. Have a great day Mary be sure to whip up some delicious treats this halloween =)

Hi Pepai, I enjoy cooking as well. Message me your email address and I will send you a link to many of my family and friends recipes that have measurements. If you make something that is to salty, like soup or a casserole, just peel a raw potato and put it in your soup or casserole while it finishes cooking or till it is tender. It will remove alot of the excess salt. We don't get any trick or treater's so won't be whipping up any treats. But, will be making some goodies for the hubby to take to work in his lunch. Have a wonderful day.
