when olic complaint his position now....he say that his real position is in centre forward and not to be winger...
he is one of the key player when bayern get double winner with Louis Van Gaal as coach..but in Jupp era, and he always get injured, he is not the first choice for Mr Jupp Heynkess..
Mario Gomez is the first option for Jupp...and Olic is second option..
what do you think about Ivica Olic complaint?? what is your suggestion for him?? still stay in Munchen or leave Allianz arena in January??

I remember Olic from the great run that Bayern had a couple of seasons ago at the Champions League. I remember him as a player who was excessively hard working and seemed to be very popular with the team as well as fans. I think he scored a very important goal late against Man United if I am not wrong which set Bayern ahead in the tournament.
But to be true, my assessment of his performance was that he was a hardworking player, but for most of the top teams he was short of a first choice player for me. And with Mario Gomez in the form of his life currently, I think it is going to be difficult for Olic to break in.
Cheers!

I think most fans generally tend to admire the really hardworking players. Ones who do not give up anything as a lost cause. I agree with you that Olic definitely seems one such player and thus his popularity. But at clubs as big as Bayern I think hard work alone is not always enough, you need to be efficient as well and probably as you pointed out his being clumsy and missing opportunities is one reason why he is not being played by Heynckes.
Cheers!

Olic is nicknamed the Duracell bunny, because he runs without stopping the whole game long. Many people would say that Robben was the essential player in the 2010 season, for me it was Ivica Olic. He has a great attitude, he never gives up and especially the two goals against United were memorable for that.
First, at Munchen he chased an apparently lost ball in the last minute and scored.
Second, on Old Trafford, after United leading with 3-0, Olic chased another ball which the majority of other players wouldn't have and scored from a tight angle, bringing Bayern back in the game.
If I was Heynckes, now that Schweinsteiger is injured, I would put Kroos in Schweinsteiger's position, and I would put Ivica as a second forward or as an attacking midfielder. Apparently this will not happen, but I would give it a try. Ivica Olic is the type of player which is loved by the fans, because he is honest and has a positive attitude on the field, which compensates what he hasn't, meaning that he can be very clumsy sometimes and he can miss from best opportunities.
For me, he will be always one of my favorites, because of how he is. You can see that even Hamburg fans weren't mad at him when he decided to sign with Bayern, which is a great achievement.

Ivica Olic was always an honest guy and in addition to that, he has always given 100% on the field. Because of this attitude, he is one of the favorites of the crowd in Munchen, and he was the same at Hamburg also.
He is also one of my favorites, and I feel sorry for him, because he is playing only a few minutes per game and not on his favorite position. But I guess if I were Jupp Heynckes, I would also play with Gomez, because he is one of the most prolific goalscorers I have seen. As long as Gomez is scoring so much and remains fit, it is almost impossible for Olic to be a starting lineup.
I think he will stay till the summer transfer window and then he will go away. It will be a pity, but if he wants to be a regular first team choice, he will have to move on. But I don't think Bayern officials will let him go this winter, because the season is long and we don't know if the other two strikers will be always fit.

He will certainly do so, but I would feel sorry seeing him go. His attitude makes him a real professional, who always gives everything on the pitch.

If a player is not happy, it's best to let him leave. NOt every player is able to stay on like Luka Modric in Tottenham, after he was refused to leave the club. In the case of Olic, it's either he accept his new position or be prepared to leave, for better chance of being in the starting 11. It's good to have a change of playing positions because if he excels, that will boost his chance of being in the starting 11 for most games as he's suited for flexible positions.
