Whoa, get the tar and pluck the feathers! What did Herman Cain do that was SOoooOOOooOOooOoOooOooOOO scandalous that he might not be worthy of being president? He complimented female workers and called at least one "Sweetie"!!! So did any of you calling for Cain to be run out on a rail react the same when Prs. Obama called a reporter "Sweetie"? ROFL!!! I don't know if I'm going to vote for Cain or not, but this whole "scandal" proves the Democrats have NOTHING better to hit him with.

First off Ted, if you ask the Cain campaign it wasn't the DEMOCRATS that outed him, it was the Perry camp. Second, if the only thing he did was call her "Sweetie" than I don't think that is bad. But, this story isn't over yet, and if Cain the NRA don't have anything to hide than why won't they allow these women to talk? If that is the only thing that happened, then why wouldn't Cain allow them to talk? The truth will either bury him, or set him free, until then he is making a lot of money off of the press on this.

"then why wouldn't Cain allow them to talk?" Their contract wasn't with Cain. If they talk then they violate their contract and likely would be required to pay back the settlement they got. Do you honestly believe these women would be willing to give up their payday in the hopes of ruining his campaign? Granted, from what I heard their payday was pretty minimal, only $25,000. Still, while that's pocket change to a big business, I doubt they can spare the cash right now.

I think its great. One of Cain's major goals was to get name recognition. It was very nice of the left to offer that up - for free! I want to see the accusers have to pay back every penny of the settlement since they want to disregard the gag order.

That works too. But you have to wonder where they got the info.

I think the incompetent oafs at Politico that released it should pay back the settlement, since they are the ones profiting from this crap.

Where should I begin, Ted? I guess I'll have to pick your post apart piece by piece, if you don't mind... #1/ "What did Herman Cain do that was SOoooOOOooOOooOoOooOooOOO scandalous that he might not be worthy of being president?" Ok...trust me, he's done a lot more than call a woman "Sweetie", even if that's all there was to the alleged harassment claims. He wasn't aware China has had nuclear capabilities for nearly half a century, for starters! #2/ "He complimented female workers and called at least one "Sweetie"!!!" That's certainly news to me. I've been hearing about invitations to his corporate apartment and unwanted advances; I've heard there have been other witnesses to some of the incidents. Believe me, if I were to find out all those women complained about were the above, I PROMISE to be the first one to defend Mr. Cain. #3/ "...but this whole "scandal" proves the Democrats have NOTHING better to hit him with." Even HE says it was the Perry campaign! Trust me, if and when the Democrats decide t find something to "hit him with", they won't have any problem finding MANY things. Just a few hours ago it was reported his campaign is being investigated for finance violations. That almost made me think CAIN was the one who leaked the harassment story to keep attention away from the really serious scandal. Let's just say Cain is far from ABLE, even when compared with the rest of the sorry bunch the GOP has to choose from! Just my humble opinion from the state of bitter Klingers...lol! Annie

That's the thing, we've heard rumors and innuendo, but so far there hasn't been evidence of any of it. none. It's ALL rumors and innuendo. The lying little turds at the Politico don't give a crap what they say. "Cain if far from Able" ROFL!! Great line!

Taskr, in all fairness these women reportedly can't come forward because of the confidentiality agreements. Whatever really happened or didn't happened over a dozen years ago, these women have apparently been true to their word all this time and I've heard nothing to insinuate it was one of them who leaked this story to the press. Do they really deserve to be discussed as though they were poor employees who simply got fired and were given severance packages? That doesn't fly since the amounts were reportedly both between $35,000 and $45,000, which would be pretty hefty severance pays for someone who had been fired for not doing a good job. Annie

All I can say is that to date, not one person has publicly accused him of sexually harrassing them. All we have is a record that two unnamed people, who refuse to come forward, saying they were somehow harassed. I really do get the impression that other anonymous sources are responsible for making up most of what we hear beyond that.

Some people just want their big payday and know how to manipulate their way into fast money. I've used the term sweetie more times than I can count and never been accused of harassment over it.

I don't understand why women get upset when someone compliments them on how they look. Do you know Howe long it takes every morning to do hair, make up? Not to mention the thought that goes into our outfits. Heck men are not real observant....it is nice when they notice. I do not take that as harrassement. Just someone acknowledging the effort. As for sweetie...I am southern. We call everyone sweetie and hon. It's a southern thing....not a harrassing thing. So Cain is in trouble for being a nice guy.....wow and we wonder why their are so few left.

Because it has nothing to do with harassment, or their feigned outrage. It is a petty power play, nothing more.

We need to teach women how to say "no." We always go after men about harassment, but how many of these "harassed" women actually request a meeting with their boss in order to say "I'm sure you don't mean it this way, but I'm feeling quite uncomfortable with the way you talk to me/look at me/touch me."? The first step is not a lawsuit; the first step is actually saying "no" in a clear way. If a woman feels uncomfortable being alone with the guy, what's wrong with an email? An email is even better because it's documentation that you actually did say "stop" in case the guy doesn't. And then you can take the issue further in a legitimate way. If you don't say "no", how does a person know that you feel uncomfortable? Everyone has a different level of tolerance for flirting with friends and coworkers, after all. I used to be quite flirtacious at work. Recently, a coworker I had not worked with on a regular basis came back to be on the same shift as me. He naturally continued to banter with me in the way he did before, and I said to him "Hey, you know I think you're funny, but this isn't so appropriate now that I'm married and a mother." and you know what? He immediately got a very guilty look on his face and said "Oh my god, you're right, I forgot! I'm so sorry! I'll keep it more appropriate from now on!" and he has toned it down quite a bit. Astonishing what clear communication can do!

Well, I know that people can be reasonable with this, because I have seen it. Of course, I've also seen women flirt with their boss, just to report him too.

We haven't really heard what Cain said or did. It's just coming out in dribs and drabs. Cain hasn't helped himself by saying first that he did nothing, then he had an innocent incident with one woman, and then he said he discussed the situation with someone when he ran for senator. He probably should have come right out and said what happened in the first place. People might respect him more for honesty.

Well, since Cain's name isn't on the agreement, and it was signed a while after he no longer worked there. There is a good chance he had no idea about the agreement in the first place. But you're right, the actual details haven't been released. Which makes us wonder why the Politico "reporter" keeps going on and on with it.
