Retired and extremely dangerous (RED). That's what CIA retirees are termed by the CIA when they have been involved in highly sensitive missions and operations that when leaked to the public, will create national disaster.
Bruce Willis played as Frank, a CIA retiree who was enjoying life by talking to a pension agent Sarah when he was suddenly attacked in his home by armed troops. He kidnapped Sarah thinking that she will also be a target (although he tried to explain the situation to her but it all seemed surreal to her
). Frank enlisted the help of his former CIA friends which are also now retirees Joe (Morgan Freeman), Marvin (John Malkovich), and Victoria (Helen Mirren). Together they uncovered the reason why they suddenly became targets of CIA itself and they did this while fighting off the attacks led by ambitious CIA Agent Cooper (Karl Urban).
Although Bruce Willis' acting here was not very much worth-praising, I still enjoyed this movie a lot. First and last, because of John Malkovich's and Hellen Mirren's characters which were really amusing and funny! The plot was common and ordinary but Malkovich as always-over-the-edge and suspicious Marvin (to the point of being psychotically paranoid) and Mirren as top shooter and killer assassin-who-likes-flowers-and-baking, made this movie worth watching for me. I personally loved Malkovich here, he's really a great actor.

I did not like Frank and Sarah's love story because there's just too much age gap between them.
I did not like their kissing scene in the end but I liked Marvin's disgusted reaction at them.
I also liked Victoria and the Russian leader's love affair. He called her bunny.

Yeah! It would have been better if he just see Sarah like a daughter, or maybe she reminds him of a daughter he lost or something.

Right! They don't look good together (Frank and Sarah), Bruce looks too old for her, she can be her daughter or sister in the movie but not wife. I don't like how she acts goofy and screaming when she thought she was kidnapped by Bruce.
Yeap, I remember he's calling her Bunny... i love the old couple!

I loved this movie! I watched another Bruce Willis movie last night....where him and a team of misfits had to go into space to save the earth from an astroid! It was a wonderful movie and thanks to the time change I was able to watch the whole thing!

Wasn't that the movie with Liv Tyler and Ben Affleck on it? And one of the soundtracks was I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing by Aerosmith???

I like this movie. Perhaps I like Bruce Willis and therefore I am interested in this movie since he is the main actor. It is amazing that after so many years pass and he is still attractive. This is an exciting acting movie which is starring by the old actors. I am also glad that this movie has a happy ending.
I love China

Yeah, there are really a lot of Hollywood actors who are aging nicely. I guess it's a must for them since they are public figures and people look up to them.

I liked the movie, it's one of those movies which you didn't expect much but when you got to watch it, it was awesome - just like the movie TAKEN!
I think the cast was perfectly matched because you have that feeling of 'they aren't matched well' but when they portray their characters, they truly deserved the part.
Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

wow this movie was a year ago. i am a die hard (har har har) fan of bruce willis and i had a good experience watching this movie. for i watched it at Japan. but i can say that it was quite boring to watch in their theater but the movie was worth watching no matter where i was. of course i miss my wife for she loves action movies as well. this movie has three actors i admire most. willis, malkovich and freeman. although freeman's role was to short but the whole movie was superb. i hope my wife would not grow old like victoria... but she kick a$$ har har har. two thumbs up on this movie. i even have a DVD copy that a friend gave me. dvd from Japan. woopee!

Why wouldn't you like your wife to grow old like Victoria? Victoria was sexy, funny and gutsy.

so you took that seriously... har har har. victoria is a sharp shooter who can pull a trigger even for the person she loves. isnt that frightening? but of course victoria played by helen mirren, not just victoria... i would love my wife to be gray like helen mirren and i am sure she will.

In my opinion the movies was very nice.
It had action, it had comedy, I really enjoyed watching it.
Bruce Willis pulled it of, and the other characters were also very funny.
I liked the part where the old lady threatens the young one not to break his heart.

My husband and I got a big kick out of it. I agree with you, if those two hadn't been in there, the movie would have not had the same fun for me.

I like the movie as well but i didn't watch it, AGAIN! haha
I've been missing out on a lot of movies and i have no chance to watch them all. I like bruce willis acting, especially action ones. I didn't get to watch, "The expendables" as well and i hope to watch it. I like these movies because of the actions in them, also the plot and all the simplicity among the sophisticated technology used. It's a good mixture between them to teach us, technology is not everything.. haha

I found Sarah to be funny, too! She was actually enjoying those CIA stuffs that Frank and she were doing.
And I loved her answer to Cooper when he was asking where was Frank, she said "He's gonna eat you for lunch".

Hi secretbear! I watched this movie on the cinema. I enjoyed it. Helen Mirren is such a versatile actress. I love her in drama, in action and in comedy. Anyway, I enjoy the script and the cast of RED. It's a well-spent 5bucks (more or less) for me!
