From today day light saving time is applied in USA. Some residents may not be fully aware of it. are you aware of day light saving time change from today. Will this affect any of your day's schedule --it may not because today is saturday and you may not have to go to work.

Actually the Daylight saving kicked in Europe from last week itself. Though the concept is a vague concept as the time never goes back or forward. All it does is create a lot of confusion for others around the world. Cheers! Ram

Yes, that is what I was joking to some of my European Friends. In India, we have enough daylight and we do not need to save any. :) In fact, if any in summer we have too much daylight. Cheers! Ram

Thanks ram for posting your response. This change use to give some confusion to the residents there for a few days. Thereafter they will get use to new timings. Luckily in India e do not have variation on account of time zones and also concept like this.

Yes, I moved my clock back last night. It was funny my husband and I thought it would be nice to have an extra hour of sleep. But when it was time to get up neither one of felt like we really received and extra hour. We wanted to stay in the warm bed. However, he had to go to work. I got up made coffee and fix his lunch. I should of went back to bed. Instead I decided to clean the house. Best Wishes!

Your cell phone automatically changes time when change time zones too. Something to be said for GPS I guess.

nice. you felt as if you got an hour extra/less. I was told that there are some clocks which adjust it themselves. Talking about time - even the LG cell phone I was given in USA-- the time changes automatically and there is no need for me to change it.

I know that this is going to sound like something that is awful to say, but I really hate the part of the year where we have to turn our clocks back by an hour. The reason that I hate it is because of the fact that it gets dark far too early in the evening. I mean it is dark by six o'clock now and that just succeeds in making me very depressed. I have always been a night owl and when I don't get to see a lot of the sun it isn't good for me.

yes. you are a person from usa. You prefer bright sunlight to work. But hereafter for the next six months at 6 pm itself it will be dark and you do not like it. Getting used to the new timings is important and am sure you local people will get adjusted after a week or so. We were there in usa during april to first week of october when day light saving was not there.

I hope that would be applied again here in the Philippines. I think we have done that before during the time of Pres. Corazon Aquino, if I am not mistaken. Now that his son is the new Pres., I hope he would follow it. It will not only conserve power but it will means an extra hour so that mothers like me could prepare dinner for the family or help in doing the assignment of the children. Actually I do hope for an extended working hours which will compress it to 4 days work to have 3 days off for us.

I really don't have any idea what you mean by daylight saving time. Is it working more on day than night and use as much out of it. Please give me some details.

this is related to different time zones in usa. From today time is changed back by one hour. please read this link. http://geography.about.com/cs/daylightsavings/a/dst.htm quote: During late Winter we move our clocks one hour ahead and "lose" an hour during the night and each Fall we move our clocks back one hour and "gain" an extra hour.

Hatley aunty : thanks. I posted this topic after talking to my daughter in Canada-- She said on getting up yesterday (today) morning one clock was showing 7 and another 6 like that. I had to tell her about the change of timings. she understood.
