Hi Laglen, Honestly, I could not understand a thing they said or should I say..shouted. They are just ridiculous and causing a lot of problems for a lot of innocent people. Someone said in another discussion that the government was planting people at these protests to act out and make them look bad. I don't know if they are or aren't and I really don't care. bottom line is there is violence and people getting hurt. If people are deliberatly causing trouble then they are leaving themselves wide open for it.

I agree and wouldnt be surprised if there are "plants". This is happening all over. The bottom line, or MY point is, these are NOT peaceful protests. These are a chaotic get together with no legitimate reason.

"yes they pushed an old lady down the stairs." - I looked at this video a dozen times over and the HD one also. The men behind her were security for the conference and the guy in white shirt behind them was a police officer. They were blocking her path but I fail to see how they pushed her down the steps when there was no one behind her from the protestors. The headlines are very misleading the only ones pushing her were the security guards trying to force her through the crowd, why didn't they get in front of her instead of using her as a battering ram?

I really can not answer that. I was too busy noticing how none of the protesters stopped, they only got louder.

Sid - I agree, I can't/won't take the time off of work, I like my job Evan - yes I did watch the video and that is not how I saw it. If that is the case, then she was the exception.

"Does it really matter who did the actually pushing?" - I guess not, if you are not concerned with unbiased reporting and are just looking for shock headlines to grab ratings or attention to promote your agenda, than the truth of a situation doesn't matter at all now does it? BTW I could be wrong but the young lady assisting her appears to actually be one of the protestors, where the two guys in suits seemed to just step back and let her lay there. Honestly do you guys even look at the videos or do you just see the headlines and assume that its the absolute truth?

Well if she was coming from the Americans For Prosperity “Tribute to Ronald Reagan” dinner she must be very rich. These people are clearly putting themselves above the law. It is time to decide if we are going to have law and order or are we going to let these thugs run wild just because they are chanting the sound bites of the liberals. What should happen is the police should move in from all directions and order them to disperse those who refuse to leave should be arrested and since they want work form a chain gang and let them clean the highways for 30 days. Work may be a new experience for them. It is coming to the point of them exercising their right is interfering with everyone else's rights. This lady clearly had the right to expect that she would be safe attending this dinner. I guess that if you are approached by the OWS demonstrators you should consider you self in danger and act accordingly.

I think it is a great idea. I have always been a supporter of prison chain gangs and people working for their keep. I figure that is the problem with the occupiers, they have nothing constructive to do.

They probably heard about the recent report that people over 65 have a much higher net worth on average. As such, old people are now the 1% along with truckers, police, fast food workers, and street cart vendors, and must be attacked on sight.

I caught a news report a few weeks ago about that large group of protestors who were arrested in New York. A lot of them (I forget the exact percentage or the median income) lived in really nice upscale homes in New York. These houses belonged to their parents, of course. But it makes you wonder just what type of people are out there. If they're not poor, if they're not scratching and clawing to survive, if they're not being eaten alive by crooked financial games - well, seriously, wtf is it all about? I think we're simply seeing what has been hidden throughout history that really went down in the 1960s. The radicals are coming forth - socialists, communists, anarchists, etc. These people who have sat on their hatred for America and capitalism for so long now see their opportunity to pounce. As I found out going through school and watching people I know completely change their worldview and general outlook on life, it doesn't take much to get inside someone's head and convince them to take up something as a cause. When you read the romance of it all, how everyone can be taken care of if only so-and-so system were in place, I guess a few old ladies pushed down the stairs are just sacrificial lambs for the endgame.

I also do not think these people realize just how good we have it here. Maybe a little time in North Korea.

I saw that article too. I really wanted to start a thread about it, but I was uncomfortable with its lack of names and/or sources. I think it would be interesting to start asking them how they feel about being the 1%. After all, these idiots are far too stupid to realize that, in reality, anyone earning over $34,000 is in the top 1% of earners.

Really am thinking that if they put half their efforts into getting jobs they would no longer be jobless

If they were my kids, while they are at the protests, I would remodel the basement into a ceramics room, or sell the couch....
