US has very strict norms for food safety. resulting people of US are becoming day by day weak towards their tolerance power and immune system. in recent listeria outbreak 29 people killed and 139 infected across 28 states. same number of people were also killed in South California by consuming listeria-contaminated soft cheeses in 1985. US is world's number one importer; imports 80% of seafood, 50% of fresh fruit and 20% of vegetables. now in this regards US food safety authorities have appealed to their Chinese counterparts to help. earlier in 1924 there was a deadliest foodborne outbreak when a typhoid killed around 150 people in NewYark City. China has also tightens up on fortified foods regulation and has announced new regulations and a renewed focus on the quality and safety of functional foods being sold inthe country.
