Predictions for 2012

Do you believe that the predictions for year 2012 will come true? Some predict that on December 2012 it will be the destruction of the world or the end of it, others say that an asteroid or a comet will collide with earth. Researchers are amazed because the Mayan Calendar dates actually corresponded to certain astronomical phenomenon. This culture has no access to high tech scientific equipment we have today yet they were able to pinpoint many events to our solar calendar with complete accuracy. Now many are looking seriously into these 2012 predictions because of the Mayan ability. The world will end anyway, the Bible says it so but it has not specified a certain year or date when will it happen.
So scary to think about it, there are so many things yet that we wanted to do in life. What are you going to do to be prepared just in case these 2012 predictions will happen?

Let me share my views, the world is not going to end in 2012, earlier also there were many such predictions, which never happened, one thing our play with nature and enviornment will end the world slowly..
moreover even if it ends can we stop it?

If the world is coming to an end, there is no point in preparing for it because nothing you do would be able to save you. Many doomsday naysayers had predicted the end of world but non came true. But what worries me, is what you have mentioned, the Mayan calendar has accurately pinpointed many events. But according to astronomer Philip Plait, the Mayan calendar is like the odometer of a car. When the counter hits 9, it will jump to 0 and the next counter will being a new cycle. Likewise for the Mayan calendar. In the aspect, the world will last longer than 2012.
Having said that, one thing is for sure. Earth will not stay forever. When and how? No one can tell. My guess, the sun will extinguished and without it, there is nothing to hold the milky way together. Earth will be lost and maybe sucked into a dark hole. This would make Earth conditions unlivable.

What I meant in preparing for it is: making peace with your enemies, forgiving those who have hurt you, living right especially in God's eyes, etc.
The Mayan calendar which corresponded to the past events is something to think about, according to the researchers. Someday somehow our lives would end anyway even if the world will not end, but the Bible also has mentioned about the end of the world, and that's why we should be prepared by "righting the wrong."
