A pleasant day fellow mylotters,
I am just wondering why some people do not eat left over rice. Just like my sister-in-law, she does not want to eat left over rice. What she will eat is the newly cooked plain rice. As a result, there are a lot left over rice wasted. And I really feel sad whenever I see wasted foods. Especially now a days, that there is nothing in this world that is being sold for free. That in every thing we need, there is a corresponding amount that we need to pay.

Leftover rice is good for fried rice. You can be as creative as you can. For me, I like to put in eggs, peas, tomatoes, hotdogs or bacon or ham, and sometimes I put curry. It's a pity to waste food.

good day,
well, wasting food is not really good. especially if this food is a fruit of your hard earned money.

There are people like that. Even my sister does not want to eat left over rice. That is why before we eat, I will be the one preparing the table. I will put the newly cooked rice in a big plate and will mix it with the left overs. But I make sure that I heated it up in the microwave oven, so it will also be hot and won't be noticeable lol.

That's a clever way to make sure rice isn't wasted.

I like left over rice, or sometimes I try to make a fried rice so I more tasty than normal one. I hope your sister in law will learn to eat leftover food so nothing to be wasted.

Hi airasheila, my sister also does not want to eat left over rice so what we normally do is that we only cook enough rice which we can consume in one meal time. And in the event that there would be left over, we will turn it into fried rice. I agree that wasting food is not a good thing, and I hope your sister in law would realize that there are variety of things you can do with leftover rice in order for it to be appetizing as well.

Your sister in law seems very ignorant about food and about how to keep it. And, as you say, she does not understand the food should not be wasted.
I don´t like to eat more than what I want to, but I place at the fridge leftovers and usually I turn them into something else so that I don´t eat the same dish twice. Rice can be kept for over a week in the fridge ( with a lid on). I usually eat it before that beecause there are so many dishes that include some rice. I put cooked or fried rice in soups, lentils or make rice omelettes.

Hai friend....
I am an Indian....So our main food is rice....We always eat rice....
We will cook some different curries for rice...In my home, We only cooks the rice that correctly needed for us..We will not waste food...I will eat the food that made for me...Because when I feel that like enough, I will stop eating...But then I will remember about the people who have no food to eat one times in a day...That will make me grief...And My mom had said me that The god will punish us for wasting food...So My mom will not make more that a quantity that needed for us.... If some guests coming with out saying, She will cook rice for them on that time...You can boil this rice in the next day's rice...Means when we cooks the rice,As it'd half cook, Put the remaining food by washing one or two times...My relatives are following this way....We will not need to put the rice in next day's rice...
Cook as the needed quantity...That's better way.......I didn't eat left over rice....
So I can't to say anything about it.... Thank you....

Whenever I have leftover rice, I let it sit out (covered) for a day and turn it into really delicious fried rice - I learned the best fried rice comes from this method. It's awesome since I don't waste any of the rice and I get another meal out of it.
