Do you consider the contents in the Da Vinci Code facts?

The Da Vinci Code was written by a historian, not by some unknown anti-christ. I contains facts and events that really happened a long time ago which is also on record books today. What do you think?

Dan Brown is primarily a writer and a novelist. He has a University education and studied art history. He is fascinated by codes and puzzles and he uses this fascination and his knowledge of history in his writing. Some of the events he describes in the Da Vinci Code really did happen; others are pure fiction and the two are very cleverly combined so that the reader is 'convinced' that the book is all (or nearly all) true when it is not. Like many good works of fiction, it is compelling because it is believable but the reader should NEVER lose sight of the fact that it is fiction and NOT a historical work at all.

It may not be a historical book but the FICTION part of the book is only the story itself, that includes the names and story of the novel, but he clearly indicated in the book that all historical events in the book did happen.

Dan Brown`s stories are fiction. A novel is not real. A good novel can look as if it was real, but none of the characters really exist. Even when writers use historic characters and persons, they say things that are not true about. The Da Vinci Code is a thriller, it is fun, but there`s no reason to think that historic events written there are not twisted so that they "look" true.

First and foremost, I love this book, not only Da Vinci Code but all his Robert Langdon series. I find it interesting with the puzzles and codes he put into. Maybe some of them are true facts, and some are just fiction. We don't know for sure though, but the controversy and the intrigues it has sparked goes to show how well written the book is.

Dan Brown is a novelist and a mathematician by profession.Da Vinci code contains some historical facts but I think that the whole book should not be taken as fact because it's written for entertainment.I do appreciate his form of writing and how knowledgeable he is for mixing fiction and reality, and let readers rethink of their faith. I think he wants to convey a message though;to not just believe what you have seen and taught.Find knowledge for yourself and be open to ideas of others and reevaluate what you learned.Maybe you have been blinded for life.

I think that the only one who can answer the handing question is Leonardo da Vinci. Based on what was studied, we may believe it or not.
