From our childhood we are taught to speak the truth and never to tell a lie. But what we observe in real life is that the reverse is followed by us. I think it is a fundamental human activity to lie more than to tell the truth. What’s your view about it?

I believe society has made it that way. Look, here in america, lying is the way of life. I believe no one and trust no one. I always told the truth and I am not going to stop now. I also know that people do not like to hear the truth, well, to bad. Lying gets you nowhere. Everyone lies, go to any store to buy something, they will lie just to make the sale. That's why we have to be informed. I know what you mean, but always tell the truth.

I think that only punks lie. To stand up and tell the truth does take strength of character. It isn't easy to tell the truth in some circles and situations. It is a matter of values and strength. FOr alot of people it is just easier to lie and not be truthful and strong. Sadly so.

Any statement regarding money needs to be followed by paper work. Common sense is your very best guide, as an adult you find that moral values belong to you, it's not wise to assume that others follow these. This has been my finding as an adult.

I've admitted before and I will admitted again. I have lied quite a few times. There can be many reasons such as saving my job, or preventing another person being hurt, or trying to avoid scolding. Whatever be the reason, I have lied. I tell myself that a lie can only be bad if it harms others. So far nobody has been hurt because of my lies, so I am cool about it. That sentence we should not lie indirectly admits that people do. If I am the only person who does not lie, I will go to heaven, and there I wont have much company because I do know that people I like do lie. So I am not going to change.

every human being tells a lie at least once in his or her lifetime, actually its only a cliche since we lie many times, be it a little white lie or something like when we tell our children that there are fairies and elves and pixies etc. or when we lie about our status, interests, career scope etc. only to make ourselves feel important or to impress others. I am not counting the kind of lies that damage others' feelings or reputation etc. but if we are not lying at all, then we are not humans! I too lie at times, I openly admit that, sometimes even to my mother, but that's only because I do not want to hurt her feelings, she often wants me to come visit her, which I do, especially on festivals. But there are times when I really do not want to go and want to spend the day with only my husband and son, that is when I do have to lie to her, which is bad of me, but I have to consider other factors too.

I don't totally agree. As for me, I was taught well by my parents and my family around not to lie. I do lie but I do believe that I speak the truth more often than lying. I have some excuses with lying. I often don't tell lies. What I do is that I don't tell the whole truth and let the others interrogating me give the proper question for me to give out the truth. As long as I can stop them from giving that proper question for me to divulge the truth, I will never tell the whole truth. But at the same time I never lied, right? But if they caught me under the correct and appropriate question, more often than not, I will tell them the truth. I don't want to stress my mind and conscience, that's why I always try to tell the truth and avoid lying as much as possible.

I differ with you here dear Doctor Didi! Basically any boy would lie either to ave one self from being caught from something he/she done, which is against the code and conduct under the given situation. In case of having escapade from some task one may lie. In my opinion it is easy to tell the truth than telling lies! Age is also on of the factor, which plays a role in this! More the matured less the tendency of a person to tell the lies! Here I am not talking about he habitual liars who tell lies for no reason! These types of people may be lying because they want lot of attention from everybody! Thus for me I stay away from lying and I am happy with it! Thanks !

Then I'm not human. I thought as much but now I Know! I must be from some other planet! Silly me I tell the truth. The only time I Have to lie is now , during gift giving season. I Have to not tell Everything to keep a surprise. But other than that, I tell the truth. And once I find out a person has lied to me , I assume Everything they tell me from then on is also a lie. They could say it is a sunny day and I would reach for my raincoat, lol! So if All humans lie All the time, then I'm not human.
