There is a notification on my Associated Content home page that tomorrow there will be maintenance. And to expect major changes. Associated Content is moving to a new domain. Yahoo Contributor will no longer be available.
Then there are some questions and answers about what is coming. There is some mystery and suspense. We will have to wait until tomorrow afternoon to fully begin to understand.
The notification cautioned that there may be some problems as there often is when sites upgrade (is this an upgrade) or go through changes. I am paraphrasing.
I am interested in what changes might be coming. I hope that I am not going to experience any problems. I have finally hit 1,000 views and have a small payment coming.
If you are think of joining Associated Content, you might want to wait until next week and let AC work out the bugs.

Sounds interesting! Please let us know about any important and significant changes that will take place and why it is a good place to write.

Right now, the only noticeable change seems to be the name. I think that they are going to be calling themselves Yahoo Voices. I have to go back and check on that but I can still access my account through Associated Content. At least I could last night.
The announcement requests that writers look over their library and voluntarily flag outdated articles for deletion. It also requests that writers flag some articles that need improvement for editing. I expect that more is coming but I do not know what.
It was a good site for beginners and non-professionals. It was relatively easy to publish articles. I was given some upfront payment and then I earned a little money for views.
I do not know if it is open to Canadians. You can always look into it. Try Associated Content or Yahoo Voices.

I went back and re-read the announcement that I got from Yahoo Voices. They are asking writers to voluntarily edit or retire their content, or at least some of it. it appears that they are going to be setting higher standards and make it more difficult to publish on the site.
I do not have any suggestions for sites that pay well. I am having minimal success at earning a few pennies on line.
I suggest that you begin your own discussion seeking the information that you are wanting. I know that there are other mylotters who write and do well.

I am interested and sort of excited about what is coming. We are supposed to know tomorrow afternoon. It will be revealed tomorrow.
I will hold my breath however because every time my credit union and cable company improves their site, there are some problems.

It is an article writing site but it is only open to those in the United States. Some years back, it was open to the international community but that has changed since Yahoo bought it. I am new to this site. I wish that it was still open to the international community: more writers and viewers.

The only problem I see is that, according to their FAQ page, there will be fewer page views (they say temporarily, but who knows?).
"It’s impossible to predict with certainty the short-term traffic impact of moving to a new domain, but we expect that it will lead to an immediate, temporary decline in page views until search engines and other traffic sources adjust to the change.
"We expect the removal of pagination to further affect traffic because each reading of an entire article will generate one view, rather than one per page."
As far as I can see, this is the worst of it, and I suspect that it will be temporary. Yahoo is a long time player in content so they should have a good idea of what they're doing.
I guess we shall see.

I got an email from the new Yahoo Voices informing me of new standards in what they will publish and that if already published content does not meet the new standards, it will be retired, as they put it, or sent back to the writer for editing. Writers were encouraged to look over their own library and voluntarily retire content that they feel is inferior or re-edit.
I think the changes MAY be more significant that it seems at first. Time will tell. I think that Yahoo is going to tighten up in what they will be publishing or what they will pay upfront for.
As I just said, time will tell.
