LESSON's LEARNED

Philippines

In life i have many experiences that i could consider part of growing up. I do even made mistakes which help me to become a better person and a person that would make my life so strong and successful the way i want it should be. While working overseas i have many lesson's learned that somehow gives me inspirations and realizations on how to live life. One of the lesson's i learned is to keep saving the money for rainy days, that's because i am too generous that i give it all to my family even no penny was left for me. I learned also that instead of buying gadgets it would be better to buy gold because it is something that i can use also for the rainy days. I learned also to be wise and not to buy too much that only trash can will benefit afterwards. These are some of the Lessons Learned i have with my journey overseas. How about you dear myLotters in your daily journey. Would you share some?

I agree that there are many lessons we learn as we go through life. Many situations and circumstances teach us things and help us to improve as a person. I do agree wholeheartedly that it is a good idea to save. I need to work on that as well. I love to shop. Not that I have a lot of money but when it does come I love to buy things. It is better to save. To pay the bills and set aside money for savings for a rainy day like you mentioned.

I have really got to work on this. I just love shopping to much. And my wishlist for things is always growing because I always seem to find more things that I want to get. But I'm trying to put forth a diligent effort to save this coming year. I hope that I reach my goal. It will be a lot of sacrifice but I will be happy with the end results; savings for emergency, and vacation.:)

It is not that easy to stop urgently. Slowly but surely is the best thing we could do for shopping stuff. I myself had a hard time just like yours to lessen my wishlist and all the wants i have. Everyday it adds more and more. Because i love the feeling it gives to me when i do shop. Its lessen my stress and coming back afterwards when the bill is coming.. i do hope we could make it, to sacrifice more for what we needed and not not satisfying ourselves on what we want.

1. There is always time to help someone out. 2. No matter how bad your life seems today, there is someone who is having a worse day. 3. remember to thank and appreciate the people in your life 4. take time to smell the roses, because it is the little things in life that can bring the most joy.

I lost my job a few years ago, right when I found out I was having a child. I did find another job but it paid a lot less, but came with healthcare. I found a great in home babysitter for my child. She was making ends meet on much less than what my husband and i were making. Whenever I felt like complaining about not having the money to go out, I would remember her position.

Life is so great that when we about to give up there's a light coming out from the people around us. They might not tell us that we should follow them but their life's testimony shows us all the blessing that we received. It encourage us to live more to life we had and be the best for whatever circumstances we have. Its just more like seeing rainbow after the rain. Hope we could see more light on our way.

Money and rainy days are certainly lessons I have learned about over the years..lol. I think that some of my most important lessons have been...never judge a book by it's cover...as a matter of fact..don't judge at all. I have learned that people can't help the way they feel and trying to change that is like moving a mountain. I have learned that respect often gains respect and that if you are not kind to others..you'll never really know kindness. I have also learned that there is a point to cut it off too...people out there sometimes take advantage. I could be here all day telling you lessons I have learned...you don't want that.

Maybe little by litte jen, not just now for sharing lesson's learned. i agree definitely that respect often gains respect. Actually i add more of my lessons of that here in myLot. People here are in different personalities, perspective, beliefs, cultures and of course country. That's why when i encounter people who are not on my same belief and that person didn't respect who am i, i really leave it here.Anyway we all have a choice in life. To link and and not to. ooohh wow.. i poured out my thoughts into it... Anyhow you are true there's a point to cut it out...

It is hard to think when all your hard earned money will only go for nothing. It is good that you have a good realizations in life. It is not bad in giving to your family. But you must also left something for yourself too. As long as the money you are sending to your family is enough then there won't be a problem. All the lessons that we have learned in life is a good chance to renew ourselves for the better.

I am a woman who cannot refuse and say NO. That's why now i already learn from it. And making things up for the better. mostly now that i have kids. Some of my hard earned money is safe in somebody's life. An investment for life that cannot be rob by anyone. That is education that i share..

We all have experiences, and partially i share mine. Being open to what happen releases me from my mistake and sharing that my lesson was not only in my head but on my heart.. And that maybe somehow somebody may learn from it without experiencing the pain..

Mind if i'm asking? i was so curious.. why you don't believe in love? never tease others is fine with me cause perhaps it will cause trouble. Maintaining good relations to others is good and beneficial for both parties. And studying for sharing to others is great indeed.

Was confused too.... 1. Never believe in love is the top lesson you have learned in life. I think it's a little strange or maybe you have gone through something?

You have learned some useful things. I would add the lesson that "People are worth more than things." It takes some people a long time to figure out that it is important to have an emergency fund for their rainy days.

Hello there... I really felt as if reading my own story while reading your post... Yes, I have been too foolishly generous with money and its distribution... today, I need Rs 50000/- for life and I can't have it... And yet there was a time when I had made 20 times of this amount.. :( It was awful, foolishly awful to distribute it all... I regret it so much... Thanks for your post...

Being generous is not bad at all, what bad is how it was being handle and to what circumstances. I get it now how to say no for the request and give to what is needed rather than wants. Learning is good...the past is our teacher..

Almost everyday has its learning curve. The lessons that I have learned are 1) Never be soft hearted. People only take you for granted. 2) Invest something for your child's future. 3) Do not encourage beggars by helping them with money instead buy books/newspapers from the person who is selling in the traffic signals. 4) Do not move so close and share your personal life with colleagues at office.

icy, i agree with that. me being the eldest to all my siblings need not to be soft hearted. all i need to do is be tough and clear with all the things i want them to learned. investing in our child's future is great. not only with the finances but with the character they may have. the foundation that will be able to share to them and be with them for the rest of their life. giving money to beggars at the street will lead them to live a life dependent to the people that will give to them. but being able to send them to the government institutions (mostly child) will help them to build life. encouraging the people who work is too good for them to be inspired in their life. we had the same thoughts about our colleagues at the office, sometimes the concern really is not them but how can we handle ourselves after...
