Finding work@home in the internet...

There are several sites and opportunities that we can visit and get a work@home opportunities. One valid site I know is the Odesk. However, one must be very careful in accepting tasks or responsibilities and we need to make sure that we deliver.
This is one mistake I made with Odesk. I was not able to satisfy one client and he gave me a poor rating. Now, I cannot remove the said rating on my profile. I want to delete it and start anew but there's no feature that I can remove it. It is there forever in my record.
I am now very careful in accepting jobs online. The idea that it would be easier to work as freelancer is not really true. If one would want to become a freelancer and a work from home employee (telecommuting), it requires great strength of discipline and focus.
I wish to earn through writing but it takes time before I develop a blog that would draw lots of viewers. But I do believe that hard work would pay off.
Anyone here who's been successful working from home or online? Can you give me some links or sites where I can get writing jobs?
Thanks in advance for your help.
