It's going to drive me mad

Last night I went to Salvation Army w/ my oldest. We were looking at shoes and I bout drove myself insane. You see my middle loves my oldest Jonas brother boots. I had two pairs one in 2 (oldest no longer fits in then) and one in 4. I had not seen the size 2's in a few months. I'm very sure I did not get rid of them and my middle has been swiping the 4's that are too big for her. I've been trying to remember where I put them. So then we were walking around in there and low and behold there were a pair of size 2 Jonas brothers boots. What's bothering me is that are they my Daughters boots and I donated them in error? As I donate there and shop there often and usually take a big store bag from Kohl's or k-mart and just fill it up with stuff as I find it around the house. Could someone of put them in there? Or is it just considence that the style and size I can't find is on their shelf? I feel so funny about it I'm going to get off line here and look some more otherwise I think I'll run over there and buy the boots for her when they open.

We have the opposite problem around here. My daughter so loves certain items she takes them out of the donate bag. Then I don't see that she has done this until after I have given the bag for donation.

My kids do that as well. That's one reason I like using the bigger bags like the Kohl's bag where you can't really see thru it so odds are they don't pick things out too much. But yes it's annoying, seems those items need to be donated that day or don't do it at all because they'll just keep pulling them out.

That is strange. I would also question myself. I know I have gotten rid of a few things then when I go look for it well it's gone missing.....then a day or two later I realize I thought I wouldn't need it anymore! Hopefully they are still there for you! Good luck!

I went back to the store and they were not my daughters with looking at them closer they looked better than my daughters were shapewise that is and then the toes were peeling off on the ones there. I know the ones we had were not that dark looking anymore but the toes were still fine.

Lol I know how you feel! We are all going crazy now-a-days, too busy to keep track of what we did or didn't do. I say buy them :) Why not? If you find the other pair you can always re-donate them! If you never find the other pair, well you just bought back your own boots lol.

Did you ever find the size 2 at your house or did you wind up going and buying the one at Salvation Army? I have never had that happen before, but I can see it happening if you donate often and don't pay attention to what goes in your bag. I hope things have been going well for you this year!

I probably would have bought them right then as I saw them in case you never find the ones you should have at home.
I'm not really sure how things work over there. I used to think that whatever you donated to them, they tried to sell.. but one time I brought in a bag of donations while the truck was there and I watched them take it from my hand and put it directly on the truck. So I don't know if they take it to a distribution center where they divide it out and send it off to different stores.. or maybe they bring it to their shelters first. Or maybe the stores get rid of some donations and keep others.
So without knowing their inner workings I couldn't say if those were yours or not. I'd say it's probably just coincidence if you are certain you never got rid of them.

Hee hee!!! I have a 2 year old who stashes things wherever he can . . . I sometimes wonder if he had put anything in the trash that shouldn't be thrown away (so now we lock them). We have a couple bags near the back entrance that is specifically for stuff we are to donate or get rid of . . . and I'm always paranoid he stuffed something in it that he shouldn't have - and so I end up dumping the stuff out to double check. Many months ago I couldn't find one of his shoes that I had just bought . . . it bugged the heck out of me that I only had the one (obviously he couldn't wear them) so I had to buy another pair. Well, the other day I was going through a bag of baby stuff that I hadn't gotten rid of - and the other shoe was there . . . ahhhhhhhhhhh!
Well, if the price was right, I guess I would pay for those boots again . . . even though I would kick myself for the repurchase - hee hee. These days my thinking is if you see something you want - just get it - because the next time you go there it may not be there - especially at a place like Salvation Army!

for some odd reason, this made me think of;Nancy Sinatra..and "These Boots were Made for Walking!"...visions of the Boots walking right to the Sally Ann by themselves...DUH! Too much going on in this little mind right now!
Yes, dearheart, I would buy them...and for sure, the other pair will turn up in your house (that's the kind of thing that would happen to me..LOL!)
