I don't know if I wrote a discussion on this last week or not, but my laptop decided to stop working last weekend. I can't believe how hard it is to live without a computer when you are used to having it available. After one day without, I went to Best Buy and got a new iMac. I had always been led to believe that macs were no good (mostly by my brother who had one of the original pcs available back in the 80s), but I really love this computer. It does take some getting used to because the commands are slightly different, but other than that it is much better. I think it will also last longer. There is one thing I would like to figure out though. On my pc, I was able to right click on a link and then I could copy that link somewhere else even if I couldn't see what the link said because it was changed to show something else in the email. Does that make sense? I tried to do the same thing on the mac and it would either just paste the words that show up on the page or nothing. Is it possible to do this?

Call Apple! They have an outstanding customer support team and are very willing to assist new and old MAC owners. Mac's are neither better nor worse than a PC. They are simply different. At this time, they are less prone to viruses; but, as more people start using them more people will create viruses to affect them. Durability - that actually depends on you and your location. Areas with "dirty" electricity will still break down the components in a Mac just like any other piece of electical equipment. And, if you spill things in it or drop it - they are no more durable than the average PC.

I have had several pcs over the last couple of years. This last one lasted less than a year. I got tired of having cheap stuff. I'm sure if I would have spent a lot more on a pc that it might have been made with better parts. You get what you pay for I guess. When you buy the cheapest computer out there, you can expect it to break. Merry Christmas!!!
