Eating Till Our Heart Thumps!

This is what I see every year. Not so much in our kids and but I sure see it in my husband and everywhere else. People are constantly eating over the holiday season. And yesterday, we were invited out to a 50th birthday party. I ordered a vegetarian dish with lots of veggies but I seen my husband stuff himself silly. I know myself I ate a lot (what's on my plate) and I literally felt my heart beat harder (that's been happening more often if I eat too much the past 2 years). I'm glad it's just vegetables and rice, though. So we went home to a turkey dinner with the in-laws, and I ate what I thought was a small plate and my stomach HURT!
On Chrimas Eve we were invited to a family pig-out tradition, which was take-out chinese food and KFC chicken, I seen my husband and kids L-O-A-D up their plates! I am thankful I contributed a veggie tray so that I had something healthy with my chicken (I had 2 small peices)
There's more instances of eating ourselves silly, and I've chastised my family, and they all say "Well, it's CHRISTMAS!!!" I'm thinking, is eating so much that our hearts starts to thump is celebrating? Or is it abusing our bodies? I know I been pushing everyone in my household to eat fruits and veggies and make healthier choices. We see a holiday or time to celebrate with our minds but our bodies are still the same. Our bodies are reacting to all the food we take in, and now I'm really scared to eat more than my normal limitations. If my heart is thumping each time I eat a lot then isn't that some sign or something that too much eating at once can cause a heart attack?

Maybe that is why Hanukkah, though it is loaded with fried food, is healthier because we have 8 days to enjoy the food and don't have to stuff it all in at once..lol
I went to a gathering last night, (I say gathering, because the party was because my neighbor's children were all home at once; they are all split across the country) and there was a lot of food. But, I was cautious of what I ate, knowing what I know now, and still felt like I ate too much.
Here at home, I still have holiday goodies, and still have another day of celebrating...

I eat A LOT. If we go to a buffet I can eat till I almost feel sick, but I have never felt my heart act funny in reaction to having eaten so much.

Wow, I think that's just as bad, you're putting a lot of pressure on your stomach/digestive system.

Yeah I've been seeing how people, my brother included, are pigging out during holiday season. They are not even thinking about what they could have for eating so much. When I was younger I used to eat a lot too but now I think it won't be healthy at all stuffing my stomach with all those foods. It's tempting to eat but I can only eat what I can eat. I think if you feel weird about why your heart pounds like that after eating, it's better to ask a doctor about it.

I've always been pretty healthy myself, and I only get the heart thumping after I eat too much. If I eat normal, I'm fine.

It's best to avoid overeating at all times, I'm going to stop as well.

Heres an interesting fact. Many scientists agree that eating less and reducing your caloric intake can drastically increase your life spam. For people who value their longevity, I suggest maybe holding back on the dessert even though it's the holidays.

I think some people use the holiday season as an attempt to really eat as much as they can without shame. Of course, if they eat far more than they are used to, then there are going to be some far reaching consequences. It is just like the man who never drinks in his life and then he drinks an entire twelve pack in a matter of few hours. Obviously that is going to cause your body some shock.
I think I didn't eat that much more, but there were other people who ate so much that I wondered where they would find a place to put it. Surely the human body could really not hold that much, unless they were starving. I think that eating a little bit more, but obviously eating twice or three or four or who even knows much more than you eat is going to lead to some severe consequences.

That's a good point, maybe my body had a bit of a shock when my heart thumped....man that's freaky.
