I've noticed over the years, that there is always a let down after a holiday. One of those times when I don't like the blahs. I seem to always ask myself "Is this all there is?" I spend months getting ready for the holiday and now its over and what's next? Nope, New Year Day doesn't hold the same feeling for me that Christmas did. Oh well, guess it is just keep mylotting and movies, and whatever. Blah!

Perhaps it was that way in the past for me. Come January, it was kind of blah until February's Valentine's Day came around. But these days I have 2 little ones and they keep me crazy busy all year round, so I don't get that let down as there's always something I have to work on for them - ha ha. We have a bunch of kid friends and family birthdays in January now - so we have to keep up the gift giving thing. And I have some friends who are too busy to get together in December, so we just get together in January instead when the "blahs" hit. I personally wouldn't mind some blah days . . . peace and quiet for once - ha ha!!

The children are all grown and have their own families and interests. They live very active, busy lives. So, until I find something that peeks my interest, I'll just put up with the blahs!!

Gotcha. Sounds like you do get to have the peace and quiet that I would like to have . . . so really, enjoy, and enjoy it while you can (I was thinking I wish I could be on myLot more often, just can't). Before you know it, the hussle and bussle of the holidays start all over again - it comes up so quickly!

I agree with you! All of the anticipation and excitement is so geat and over powering and when its done it is just blah. Its over and the reality of that makes it feel like just blah.

My Christmas was fine, but at my age and with only my hubby and me at home, we usually for our gifts don't even wrap them and get them over several months before Christmas day. We take advantage of all the sales we can for the things we want. We do buy for the grown children, grand kids, etc., and we do the Christmas get together at one of the children's homes, but now there will be nothing for a long time to anticipate and prepare for, so blah!!!
